Hasco - 1.34 around Sandown seems like a pretty awesome time for a big heavy car with no brakes and an auto... Can you steer a bit or what?

:banghead: Sorry to mislead, but the correct times for 4 laps are

1:38.18 1:38.42 1:38.48 1:37.12 (very consistent)

I dont know where I picked up the figure of 1:34 must have been too early in the morning for me. however these times were achieved in a standard BATXR6

with John Bowe High Performance course and are in writing.

Now that Peter has enhanced the car to 273 RWKW and I have some real rubber being fitted tomorrow, I am keen to go back for another go. I will not rest until I have achieved less than 1:30 and I would like to think that with camber adjustmentssoon top be done by Pedders 4 degrees that 1:28 is achievable.

Just love Sandown, may be dreaming but what a dream.

Hasco - no probs - and everyone has a right to dream mate

I'd focus on trying to get to 34s first. 10 seconds doesn't just fall off a laptime.

Even 34s will be a great effort in such a big, heavy car on stock suspension.

It might take more work than you think... and I don't see you doing it without bigger picks to start with :banghead:

Have fun trying though!

And make sure you keep us all posted with your progress.

No I know I will not achieve it in one session, but low 30 s will satisfy me. Have you got a cool $6000 for my brembo's or do I have to keep saving.

Is it really only 10 grand for the full APS Phase 3?

If l were to buy a BA2 with the T56 (assuming driveline shunt is fixed) with premium brakes and luxury pack, plus the APS Phase 3, aftermarket wheels, valve springs and engineering cert then that could be had for around 70 grand!

Does that sound like a wicked set of wheels or what? Sheesh, is anybody else thinking what l am thinking :blush:

DR Z , great read , very interesting. Thanks for sharing it with us :spoton:

If possible it would be good to see some info on modded LS1s

I have just bought myself a modded LS1, and was interested to see how it compares to the Phase 1 that I was originally wanting to buy.

I have a VYSS with 237rwkw, as dynoed by previous owner. Mods are tri-Y headers, 2.5" exhaust, high folow cats, and an edit.

From 237rwkw I have estimated fwkw to be 300, & torque to be 550nm.

I haven't been down the strip yet, only got it Saturday! From others 1/4 mile times with similar mods, I have estimated 0-100 in 5.5 and 1/4 in 13.5.

I have put this into the spreadsheet so you can see how a secondhand LS1 compares. Pretty good bang for buck :gooff:
