Pity they couldn't have had the blue and white squares on the side of the car in the shape of the 'war-bird' like the supercars.......that would look hot!

I feel sorry for the Police in the US

They generally only have those fat slow Crown Victoria's and Mercury Marauders with the 4.6 engine with about 290Hp.

At least they can push cars off the road or give cars a tap in a pursuit so they can be ended early without causing too much damage.

Plonky,

Why can you not give a car a panel tap to end the pursuit ?

I have always wondered why our coppers did not do this.

Any chance of a pic of your hwp ride ?

At a guess I would say:

a) because the airbags in the cop car may go off

b) good chance the dickhead trying to get away would probably sue the state and actually win. Mad world...

The civil libbers won't let us! :gooff:

But honestly, why would I want to? Even if the guy has commited a serious indictable offence, do I want to risk burning in a prang and not going home at night to catch him? Uh Uh. Australian police cars aren't fitted with the gear, so I wouldn't do it. There's too much risk in driving at the speeds we do anyway, and I'm one of the fast drivers at work!

Getting back ON topic, tonight I drove one of the cars this thread was started about. I had forgotten how bloody HORNY the XR8 sounded :w00t2: . Still, even with 20,000kms on the clock, and all this talk of boss motors needing to be run in, it simply did not have the raw buzz that planting the foot in the T gives.

Stunned by the engine roar at 4,000 rpm though... :w00t2:
