I wouldnt mind knowing what is the best sprint for an auto T. I have seen a 14.8, Motor Mag claims 14.6 - anyone ever got better?? I live in hope my car might be quicker than that.

In the "Hot Source" section of Motor magazine, for the Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo it lists:

0-100 Km/hr: 5.91 seconds

0-400 metres: 14.14 seconds

Last tested: Oct 03

From this I cannot tell what transmission they used to get these numbers. Perhaps someone who has the October 2003 Motor Magazine issue, or the PCOTY or BFYB issue that may have listed the XR6 Turbo acceleration results could confirm what transmission was used. Even if Automatic is listed as the transmission it would be interesting to know whether they used the Sequential Shift or Performance Mode rather than the Standard Mode.

It must also be said that quite a number of people share the view that manuals are better on the track while automatics are better on the strip, though no doubt that statement could easily open up a can of worms. :idunno:

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. :hammerhead:

Hi Blown BA, I have a best of 12.885 @ 111.87mph  on street tyres. I haven't tried on slicks, I dont have any and I dont know if they would make a difference.

I have spent $3845.00 For 255.5rwkw's on engine mods. At this stage I dont think I will do any further mods as the car is awesome. I believe that if I get any more power that traction could become a serious issue. At the moment I have no traction problems in the dry, in the wet traction control stays on and I drive very conservately.

I have also spent $1690.00 For a very solid and fast changing auto. It is great and in manual modes the changes are very crisp.

Here is a link to my mods.

Geea's Mods

I hope this is the information you were after.

Geea. :w00t2:

Nearly 2 pages of posts and I think I have the only post so far that is related to the initial thread.

I think that could be some sort of record for me. Me being the only person on a thread not to hijack it.

Then again can Blown BA actually hijack his own thread and if not does that make my post a thread hi jack and the rest of you following the thread.

Geea.

Following you like a tracer bullet from one of the Governments new French helicopters.

I haven't yet taken my car to the track - no time, and when I do, I haven't teed up slicks.

But I have plugged in one of those dash mounted performance gadgets for a rough idea until I do get around to it. I dont know whether they are accurate, it was a friends.

On street tyres, and 19inch wheels, with the a passenger and boot full of subwoofer, the read-out for the qtr mile was 11.96 @ 115.1mph.

This of course, means sh*t to me until I hit the track properly and have a time slip to show for it.

Nice one. Did it show your 0-100km/h time as well?

Let's hope you get to reproduce those numbers at the BANK.
