If you just want to plug it in with no fuss you will need

Do they have to be stereo 3.5mm plugs?

Or is mono fine?.. Just in case.

I'll go to my local Altronics store today and see if I can pick these items up!

Thanks FPV329.

Oh I emailed Humax about the F2-1010T STB. Apparently the link to the maual was for an overseas model, and hence NTSC output is not an option on the australian model. I asked if it was possible to flash the firmware on my Oz box with the overseas firmware to make the NTSC option available and was told NO!

The Nordmende is ok, bit cheap feeling, and get a slight picture flicker.. more like a stutter every few seconds where the image moves up and down by a millimeter or two (the OSD doesnt move though). Wouldnt mind finding a better quality 12v NTSC box but this will do for now.

I hooked up a coax extension lead from inside the house to it last night and all channels worked beautifully.. hope the diversity antenna works just as well!?

I use a similar set of connections for my audio setup. it's a bit bulky but you should be able to hide it somewhere.

Can somebody post a photo or video of the picture and sound quality typically found when moving?

Cheers,

Ant

Have just ordered a strong 5005 stb to put in th GHIA but I really want to get rid of the whining from the aux input.

Have ordered an 80 AMP noise filter to go next to the battery to get rid of that pesky AC current but I want to know if anyone has tried putting a noise filter right at the back of the ICC to cut out the noise it picks up between the plugin point behind the fuse box and icc?

Some BA owners have to put up with more AUX noise than others- I am one of the unlucky ones- so be sure to let us know what you find. What did the 80 amp filter cost you?

I haven't yet tried using a filter under the dash.

The Strong SRT5005 cannot output NTSC as far as I could figure out.

I took mine back and got a Nordmende from Megamart.

Do you have a separate PAL to NTSC converter?

I too get a bit of electrical whine from the alternator?

As far as I can tell it isn't coming through my speakers though..

Well I hooked up my aerial (bought off ebay) and haven't noticed a great deal of improvement in the signal.

All I get 'most' of the time (when stationary) reasonably well is SBS.

I haven't yet hooked up the 12v booster.. Will that make much difference though?

I did touch the wires to the 12v socket manually, and it didnt affect the signal strength at all? hmmm

Hopefully connecting up the 12v booster will significantly improve things, otherwise I might have to lash out on a more expensive diversity antenna from my local audio installer. The multitude of converter plugs I used doesnt help either.. Seems sensitive to touch, affecting the signal and losing the only station I can pick up.

Would connecting up 2 of the same type using joiners improve things or make it worse? (I.e. One in each corner of the back window)..

Like I said, I'm in a pretty good reception area. perhaps it's my Nordmende not having a very sensitive tuner?..

oh where will it end.... :crybaby:

cant coment on the digital side of things, but the booster made the difference on picture or no picture on my portable analogue.

Did also notice a spiking of the picture when any movement to the plugs was made, think for when I get a digy box, ill cut the 3.5mm plugs off and solder a proper plug on!
