So please correct me if I am wrong but if you want to install a dvd player into the factory ICC, it has to output NTSC and also has to have a scart connector and it will plug straight into the satnav connector. or you can get a converter like the blaup one and then just use rca into that unit then into the satnav connector. Is there another connector which allows rca into the satnav connector??.

Thank you

I believe VDO do one of these adpators aswell. Alpine will also have something like this n a few weeks that will supposedly allow you to hook anything you want upto the ICC, obviously including any Alpine gear with Ai-Net. IMO, if you can get the Blau adaptor seperately, go for it.

Would this work, if I had a dvd player which output video as NTSC via a rca, then you get a scart to 3 rca connector (vid, left and right audio) and then wired in into the ICC connector using cutsnakes guide would that work??

No the ICC must have component (GRB red, green and blue) input in NTSC, not Composite video.

So to install a Dvd player what do I need. when looking for a dvd player it has to output NTSC via scart?? is there any other way to converter from rca or s-video to the ford ICC

Demenio... You could do the following:

1) RGB SCART DVD player as suggested set to NTSC mode

2) Unmodded Xbox (ie Legal) set to NTSC

3) Any off the shelf DVD player set to NTSC (most car types can have that set) then run it through a CVBS to RGB convertor for about $160 from convertors.tv or whatever their URL is....

4) Buy the Blau/Apline/VDO gadget and cable

The KEY factor is you need to get a RGB+S NTSC timed signal at the ICC end of the deal.

Oh and if you already have satnav you loose that because none of the current solutions cater for satnav/aux switching...

That will change in a very short period of time.

Is it possible to get a connector like a RCA to SCART convertor and do it this way. The connector has RCA on one End and SCART pins on the other, also it has a switch on the top of the asdapter to select INput or Output via RCA end.

Can someone help I have tried this setup but I can not get a picture on the screen, I have a DVD player with NTSC and still nothing. If I put the Video Switch and Ground together I get a black screen so it is switching the screen. JUST NO PICTURES.

Would this box be useful to allow non ntsc outputs to be connected, along with the cable shown elsewhere on the forum to the icc.?

or how about this one?

murtly, No they won't work. All they do is change pin-out types. In a SCART connector there are a number of different signals and you need the correct signals.. the ones witht he switch on them simply give you CVBS.

travis, the latter item is mroe liekly to work correctly.. But it depends on the way the conversion is done and the timign of the output signals etc...

Hell I bought a CVBS/SCART seperator from a major electronics chain that claimed on the paperwork to convert CVBS to RGB and it didn't.... $130 down the crapper there....
