All,

I made an error in the circuit diagram for the auto switcher. The transistor is a BC547 NPN type. I mistakely put a BC557 PNP type but drew the symbol for a NPN type. Thanks Scruffman for pointing that out to me.

Robin.

YCL,

Just to let you know, not to bother with the dipole antenna in the rear spoiler. I have tried a few experiments doing this (but resting a wire dipole on the upper surface of the spoiler). As the boot lid is less than 0.5 wavelengths below the antenna, the antenna is effectively too close to the ground (the boot lid acts like a large ground plane). The resulting signal is poor. Lifting the dipole about 30-40 cm (ie approaching 0.5 wavelengths) above the boot lid vastly improves the signal. Also the dipole is too directional. I'm going to experiment with a electric car antenna which will act as a 5/8 wavelength vertical when fully extended. This will produce about 1.5 dbi gain. I'll post up the results when it happens.

Robin.

All the menus and everything else works!! just says no or bad signal??

I wouldnt have though it would affect the actual siugnal?? If it wasnt gunna work I thought I would not have worked at all!??

Any ideas or is this just how it is suppose to be?
