Moby58 Member 9 Member For: 21y 7m 18d Posted 15/11/05 01:24 AM Share Posted 15/11/05 01:24 AM There is an AUX input option, which connects to a connector behind the fuse box and then goes to a stereo socket, whick mounts on the little lip under the tissue holder at the back. You can plug MP3 players, etc into it using a standard 3.5mm stereo jack, and then press AM on the stereo unit until AUX is shown. This routes the sound thru the ford unit. However, there has been mixed reports on the quality, as there is no shielding on the lead.So how do you guys get the sound of the xbox, stb, dvd into the prem factory system. I had to shrink the original Avi down to under 10 megs to get it on the server for free, so there is a bit of loss of quality from compression, so it's not the digital TV at all, it's crystal clear ( while stationary ).There's no sound in the first clip, no idea why, my Canon must of had a heart attack? After hearing me in the second clip you will all probably wish the sound had'nt worked in that either! The stationary clip-http://media.putfile.com/DigTVStill05-10-14_07-4800and the mobile clip-http://media.putfile.com/DigTVMobile05-10-14_07-5600-1They will take a while to buffer and play.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Thanks heaps for those, the second video was a laugh- yes I do appreciate you recording them!It does looks like it will be near impossible to get anywhere near decent reception- to run digital TV. Has anyone thought about an analogue tuner? The problem that I see with digital is that it is ALL or NOTHING. There is either perfect picture and sound quality- or nothing at all. At least with an analogue tuner, the picture or sound will just go a bit fuzzy every now and then. So does anyone know how many years of analogue transmission are left?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Analog TV transmission was supposed to stop in 2008 but I have heard that it will be extended to 2010.You can still buy Tv's with analog tunners, so untill the govt put a stop to this the cutover date will keep slipping.I heard that for the cost of a preposed govt public education scheme on Dig Tv they could just send every household a DTV STB... Sounds like the Analogue is more suitable, for cars anyway. How many people are planning to keep their cars past 2008-2010 anyway?

bdazla Donating Members 71 Member For: 20y 5m 27d Posted 13/08/06 06:55 PM Share Posted 13/08/06 06:55 PM So I have been following this for a while. I was thinking of using the following:From http://www.carconverters.com.auDual PAL or NTSC Multisystem RGB Converter with 12v Relay Switch - $291Car DVB-T Digital Mobile Receiver (good for 180km/h) - $432From http://www.brashimports.com.au/F.M. Modulator / Sender - $36From http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-internal-Car-TV...1QQcmdZViewItem2 x internal Car TV antenna - $80This will allow me to plug in a reversing camera to the sig convertor and then use the digital set top box to plug in a dvd player and maybe an xbox. I could also add two other screens in the rear from the digital set top box. I have attached a pic of what can be achieved. Expensive but versatile and stable. Hopefully anyway!
