Well I hooked up my aerial (bought off ebay) and haven't noticed a great deal of improvement in the signal.

All I get 'most' of the time (when stationary) reasonably well is SBS.

I haven't yet hooked up the 12v booster.. Will that make much difference though?

I did touch the wires to the 12v socket manually, and it didnt affect the signal strength at all? hmmm

Hopefully connecting up the 12v booster will significantly improve things, otherwise I might have to lash out on a more expensive diversity antenna from my local audio installer.  The multitude of converter plugs I used doesnt help either.. Seems sensitive to touch, affecting the signal and losing the only station I can pick up.

Would connecting up 2 of the same type using joiners improve things or make it worse? (I.e. One in each corner of the back window)..

Like I said, I'm in a pretty good reception area. perhaps it's my Nordmende not having a very sensitive tuner?..

oh where will it end....  :spoton:

Don't understand why your signal is not good, mines crystal clear. I do have the booster on. Wrap the adaptors tightly in electrical tape to keep the connections tight! I doubt throwing more money at another antenna will change anything much?

The digital does seem touchy about just where it is when it's doing it's thing, one of the reasons why you can't get it while mobile, a change of a couple of inches will make all the difference sometimes, maybe we should of stuck with the old tele!

I cut off the two 3.5mm plugs and joined the two sheilds together and the two cores together and terminated these in a normal rf antenna plug for the back of the STB. In a good signal area - no problems. The antenna is a boosted diversity one off Ebay.

Yes.. I think my next step is to take the connectors out of the equation.. Solder a new plug on, solder up the 12v booster and see how I fare.

Given that I can get great digital reception inside the house on other boxes with just a cheap crappy rabbit ears aerial (without booster), I don't see why it shouldn't work.. The only other factor is the Nordmende tuner..

I'll let you know how it goes, when I get time to do some soldering.

You might have all ready but have you tryed this indoors on you house antennas?

At least you know if its the box or not?

Cameron,

Just a thought - Do you have metal tint on the back window? If so this may be affecting the signal.

hi 4runner..

I do have tint, but not sure what it's made of?

It's from tint-a-car.. Formula 1 tint.

Good point fil.. I think I have, but can't remember the results.. I'll give that another try to eliminate that as a problem source.

Hey guys... been looking around for TV tuner stuff and came accross this

http://www.brashimports.com.au/TV%20SH%2001%20digital.htm

looks nice has NTSC and all that plus its digital. Wondering if it would work. It is selling on ebay but the price on the website is cheaper.

Also on the main page

http://www.brashimports.com.au/

there is a few antenna's which might be worth checking out! hope this helps. If someone gets one or has one would be good to know if they work! might get a group buy happening.

PS this looks awsome.. play divx in the car...

Can somebody post a photo or video of the picture and sound quality typically found when moving?

This seems pretty good, anyone know how much they are worth and whether it could be used in the BA
