Can anyone provide an update on this mod I.e. Is there now a suitable digital box and has the reception whilst moving issue been resolved??

Cheers :spoton:

What he said... Any updates?

Reception while moving will always be an issue, TV signals just ain't that easy to lock onto in a moving vehicle.

As for STB options, there's quite a few out there that do RGB SCART out, but the issue lies in voltage (12 good, mains powered bad, but you'd probably be able to modifuy the STB internally) and NTSC/PAL.

A useable PAL > NTSC RGB convertor is about $300 so obviously you'll want to have a STB that can be set to NTSC output. Many can, for example my Topfield is fully switchable via Settings menus. May pickup one of those cheapy ones from Woolies and set what they're capable of... :)

is more what I'm interested in

I see Aaron has connected his Xbox to the ICC. Just wondering what cable was used to do the audio connection. I connected mine about a month ago and it has been working fine, however I get a bit of gearbox whine through the audio connection. Any suggestions on what type of cable works best?

I am in the process of writing a “How to…” document for those who are interested in connecting an Xbox to the ICC…

hey great idea, one thing I want to ask u is, if hte box is placed in the boot how can u change the channels do u have to point the control towards the box or the screen?

The trick is to tap into the ICC infrared receiver (it is located on the upper part of the ICC screen surround). This will then need to be fed straight into the Dig TV box and viola! no need to point at the boot!!

This should not be to difficult. I will let you know how I go.

What is the Infra red port usually used for on the ICC ??

The IR on the ICC is there for the remote on the SatNav option on higher spec fords..

btw.. There is a 12volt STB that supports NTSC RGB straight out of the box. I have seen it for sale for around $150 at Myer Megamart. The brand is Nordmende.

I have a mate who has put one of these in his XR6 and it seems to work quite well...

For an antenna I used a boosted diversity antenna that adheres to the back window. I placed it up in the corner where you don't notice it. It works fine whilst stationary (in a good signal area) but like all the others is prone to drop-outs whilst moving. On ebay for about $40-50. Diversity antenna
