OK after 20 minutes of pulling at it I finally got it out, but now I have another problem!! lol

The white aerpro comnnector that fits in it, just will not clip in, has anyone else actually used the actual aerpro connector?? if so how did you make it fit??

Hre you go guys, here are a few photo's that may help you out.

Paul

Ok, first you remove the gearbox surrounding which is easy, just put your fingers underneat the front end, it pops open, then open it from the back end.

Then you will see the two screws in the bottom left and corner and bottom right hand corner, remove those (they hold the side skirting).

Then you will see the 2 screws facing vertically, undo them and then you will be able to remove the tissue box holder.

These two screws were driving me crazy, I just went out and ripped my console apart and sure enough I don't have them, neither of my BAs has had them. This may be one of those Ford QA things, maybe some cars get tham and others don't!

I had trouble getting mine free, in the end I think I actually broke the mounting lug off to get it free.

Just a quick query question?? If I hook the STB straight up to the 12V via a 2mm plug, then how does it control the AMP's that go into the STB?? Wouldnt it put through more than the max 1.4 amp that the power pack puts though?

No, it is what the STB draws, not what gets pushed...if you know what I mean...

Muzzza,

The DVD player and STB are sort of unrelated.

People who have got the DVD I assume would also have the blau multi signal converting thingo. This allows you to plug teh DVD player into the ICC. I assume also the the Blau DVD player is a PAL device or doesnt output NTSC RGB signal.

So I just got off teh phone with Max power regarding his questions as well and think it is wise to add the following in brief.

1. STB needs to be able to provide a NTSC RGB signal. If it cant do this then it wont work if you want to plug straight into the Ford ICC LCD screen.

2. If you have the Blau signal box then any STB will run into the blau unit. as long as it meets the point 3 rule.

3. The STB needs to have power the TEAC DV-B400 runs on 12V but if you want to use one that doesnt then no big problem you just need to also get a power invertor to provide 240V in your car. This also adds to cost but its your money.

4. Antenna - this is where we are all currently experimenting. I am using a VHF vertical whip that I use for my amatuer radio. It is working very well an I also intend on placing a signal amplifier in there as well when I get around to it. But you can read here what others have done etc.

So that's it. Not much is known about other STB's as we dont have them. I have the DV-B400 and it works plugging it into the ICC directly. If you wanna try something else then it is You who is tryign it as long as it meets all the points 1 - 3 then it will work.

Hope this answers more questions than it generates.
