That's why the TEAC one was so great becuase Teac had a firmware available that forced NTSC output. With all of these devices the outputs can be forced at teh digital to analogue convertor, it's normally a soft-switch for most chipsets, but some also can be forced by jumper combos.... or recoded via their serial port (which may or may not be available ont he rear panel.A. I've already had to learn way to much just to understand the Ford end of the thing I just try to share the tech stuff so people can make informed decisions.A. As for the question of doing this to other forum member cars for a fee, etc, honestly, I'm not interested in any payment, but unfortunately I just don't have the time to do it. I work in Albury/Wodonga during the week and I am at home in Melbourne only on the weekends. That said I would be happy to provide answers to any questions on what I did with my install, and if someone wanted to come around and see my install that would be OK on a weekend some time (I'm in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne). The install is relatively straight forward and all the info for the connections has been provided before, so I won't go into this again. I will post up a pdf of the circuit mods required to the DVB400 to make the STB/Ford ICC switchover seemless (no need for external switches), as a few have asked how to do this.Since the last post I have "created" a omnidirectional dual band (VHF/UHF) antenna with in-built pre-amp which mounts on the rear window glass (internally) and I have made it all black so you can't notice it too much (tinted glass). It works quite well, as I tried a simple dipole "rabbit's ears" but it was too directional and temprimental and had to be shorted/lengthed depending on UHF/VHF selection. This new design uses a looped dipole and a phased four sector UHF array, and provides good coverage when stationary (nothings going to work well while your moving). It's only about 30 cm in diameter and is "stuck" on the inside glass with black double sided tape (I want to use suction cups when I can find something suitable. I didn't design it myself, it's actually a gutted Antsig caravan antenna which has been reworked to suit this application. I got it from Kmart for $55. I'll post up a pic when I get a chance.PS. Geega saw your car at the Holden / Ford show, very nice. Brian, bcl, has mentioned you before. I met him at Nizpro, got to talking, and caught up with him at the show as well.Cheers,Robin. Are people interested in instructions for making something that costs so much? Or are people happier with a $100 product readymade?Long way to go with ideas testing still before anything comes out... Oh I wish I had a garage again :(A.
