I haven't included items such as how to remove the tissue box holder. As this has been covered by other forum members such as CDM. If useful and with their permission I may incorporate some of their docs into mine...P.S.S The doc is in Powerpoint as I found it easier work with the images and diagrams..Have fun!Cutsnake**EDIT** The attachement is quite large (800+K) so it may take a little time to download (especially on dial-up connections)Ford_ICC__Dig_TV_Proof_of_Concept.zip Edited 23/04/04 11:55 AM by cutsnake

If you would like to add any extra photos of accessing the ICC conector and removing the tissue box etc just let me know as I have a few from the Sat Nav install tute. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product (fully mounted etc). For anyone who already has the Blau DVD in their car they won't have to find a STB that has a SCART output becuase they can use the IVSC signal converter (which accepts a composite input) so it should work out a very easy mod for them. And for those with just the Blau sat nav, they could add the IVSC. Now you've got me thinking about a 12V STB....Cheers, Chris

At times there is nothing and other times I get continous uninterupted viewing. I should note that two bits of wire sitting on the rear parcel shelf does not make for a good antenna .I noticed when driving east on Mahoneys rd in Thomastown (Northern suburb of Melb) I got fairly good reception, But driving west I had almost nothing!. I put this down to the tinted windows. I will try sitting these bits of wire on the front dash and see how it goes (no tint there!). My ideal antenna would be similar to the Radio antenna Ford uses (integrated in the rear screen). Once I mount the unit properly (hopefully next weekend), I will concentrate on the antenna location and design. If your looking for decent 12 volt STB do go with your Blau unit, I recommend the Thomson DTI-500. This is a very sensitive STB and is quite small. Note to others... This STB only outputs in PAL, so it must be connected with the Blau IVSC converter as the FORD ICC requires NTSC.RegardsCutsnake

Reception can be faultless when sitting still, but for good reception while moving I will need a much better antenna. The FORD would look a bit silly with a giant Hills antenna mounted on the roof I am hoping a few others tackle this project so we can collectively come up with the best antenna design. Yep, I have one of those as a home unit.Unfortunately only outputs PAL....Btw....The antenna bit is driving me mad. At this stage it looks ok when still, but is pretty poor when moving.Regardscutsnake

Just one question through, how does this effect the aircon and std cd/radio controls. Can you still view them or does the tv module take over and cancel all other output to the screen ?You still see an overlay of the control when you you set something.E.g. if you turn up the volume, you see the volume bar over the picture, If you turn on AirCon you get the appropriatte symbol. These are different images to that of the 'normal' display and are only displayed for a few seconds. A quick question/s about the video select switch,If I short out this pin does the overlay superimpose over the TV picture when I change an A/C control etc?If so, do we need a switch or can we just short this pin to ground? What happens if the STB is turned off, does the display return to normal?Do you have any photos of the display with the overlay superimposed over the TV picture? I would be keen to see it.Thanks

I would be keen to see it.Thanks Attached are a couple of photos with the overlay. As you will see, they use sections of the original 'Home' screen. If you switch off the STB, you get a blank black screen. So I suggest you have a switch to return to the normal Ford screen..RegardsCutsnakeoverlay.zip
