I got no problem with them not covering any failures directly related to mods done, as long as they pull there finger out and fix the other issuse which are related to manufacturing defects such as brakes , rattles and 5th gear cruch problems.

As he said!

You need common sense, and a good relationship with your service dept. Mine are great, never had any warranty issues with my T and they new about all of the mods. I was told then that fmc encourage dealers to report any mods at service time. Amazing what a smile, a joke, and a couple of cartons of amber liquid can do. Re my attitude to my dealership, I'm with KTford.

Is anyone on the forum a ford dealer, or work in a ford dealer ship?

Can someone clarify whether its the dealer that pays for warranty work and claims money backs from ford motor company for parts used, or does the dealer pay the lot including labour.

And is it upto the dealer to black list your car. So if you have a good dealer who likes to see modded xr's he might not worry about listing your car.

"In cases where Ford has evidence of vehicles being operated in ,manner contrary to our recommendations (e.g. excessive Wheel spinning, participating incempetid giving etc), the vehicle will be placed on Warranty Alert."

I take it that this means the dealers can flag your unmodified vehicle purely on a value judgement of the way you drive. What "evidence" do they need?

I had 2 Ford service personnel in my car a couple of weeks ago at well over the posted motorway speed limit. This was purely to demonstrate the crunching 5th gear issue. Taking the SML at face value, however, it could mean that the car is flagged. If Ford make a ruling like this, then they will need to provide some fairly clear guidelines on the vehicle use contrary to recommendations. Leaving it as a value judgement will lead to inconsistency and ultimately may mean some owners are unfairly penalised.

Camerooch is I think, no doubt he will respond.

That's the main reason I have not gone ahead with my mods, purley due to the outstanding issues with my car, diff probs and so on. This company is unbelievable, If only they would place their focus on keeping customers happy, and rectifying poor build quality and parts problems rather than continuing to show the arrogance and contempt that they do for their customers.

Maybe they are trying to protect themselves as they know their product is crap and cannot withstand any form of pushing it!

Sorry Scotty, but as you can see I am fed up with my T, as much as I love it, the Diff probs now the Gearbox whine, driveline shunt, surging, no handbrake, shuddering, steering shudder and so on is taking it's toll. It is a fantastic car with poor quality construction and components.

Goes in tommorrow for 15k service, wrote a letter to Ford, dealer is holding onto the car until it's all fixed except for the diff, at this stage ford have officially indicated they have no fix for it, or the sterring shudder.

Sorry to say this weekend I am beggining to look for something new around the car dealerships

I test drove a VYSS the same day as the XR6T and was very disappointed with the Holden. Although I did not feel uncomfortable at all in the SS, the handling was not as sharp as the XR6T.

The accelaration in the SS 0-60 was :w00t2: compared to the turbo. It is only when you get above 60 (more like 80) when you feel the V8 start to roar. By this time the Turbo has already said goodbye. The gear changes were also alot smoother in the XR6T where the SS tended to lurch at every change.

The only other point is the distinct sound of the V8. Not uch can compare to it however I would rather buy a car for the overall performance rather than the sound of the engine. When you crank the stereo up you can't hear the engine anyway.
