tupperware Member 113 Member For: 22y 2m 1d Location: South Brizzy Posted 22/04/04 11:32 AM Share Posted 22/04/04 11:32 AM I would personelly only use a reputable product that pacificly says "SAFE FOR USE ON CLEAR COAT WHEELS" I agree, there is some nasty stuff out there.Sure the acid cleaners will dissolve the alloy but so does strong caustic. Spray some caustic oven cleaner like Mr Muscle on alloy and it will certainly clean it cause it just stripped a layer off. A mate used some Truck wash on his trail bike not knowing it was the caustic one. It stripped the front forks of all the alloy annodising - not happy Jan!I use to use the Meguiars stuff but found Eagle to be a bit cheaper for the same result. And read the instructions...30 seconds contact time doesn't mean 10 minutes....I always love the "non-acid" described cleaners - they're the caustic ones

If I get any on my paintwork, it will not damage it whatsoever.
