I was cruisin in the XR8 and had some random dude come up to me and ask how much it was worth, just told him 50g's and then he asked what size motor was in it... "is it a 289 in this is it?" my answer "no f*ckin way"

told him that they are 330 and 5.4L, thank god he didnt ask me to lift the bonnet, cause he was a deadset dropkick...

also had a biker guy walk straight at me when I was sitting in the xr8 one day, I was packin my pants, cause he was a wild lookin fella, and he just started talkin to me about the xr, askin me all these questions, I popped the bonnet for him, checked it all out, and to my surprise too, cause I thought he was gonna try take it off me or somthing... thank god he was a nice bloke... hehe

anyone else had some weird things like these?

Had a few questions:

- How much does it cost to insure (from an BA XR6 N/A driver)?

- How is the fuel consumption (from a BA XT driver)?

- Have you had brake shudder, do you get driveline shunt, how does it go (from an AUIII XR6VCT driver)?

Don't mind it.

I've lost count of the number of times I've been asked these sorts of questions.

When I first got my XR6T (March 2003) it had only been out for about 6 months and there weren't many on the roads. Most Friday and Saturday nights when I would go out cruising, I would get asked these sorts of questions 4 or 5 times in the one night. The most frequently asked question was "Is that turbo?". After a few months, more and more XR6 Turbos started appearing on the roads, and now it's only every 3 or 4 weeks that strangers ask questions about my car.

I can only imagine what it must have been like for people who bought their XR6T's back in 2002!

I was once asked to "Remove your finger and stop mucking around", to which I replied "It's not my finger, and I'm serious".

... sorry.

Used to get a lot of Q's last year especially in Tassie

Best one was a when a walloper asked me to give it some stick so he could listen to it as he was getting a T as a squad car Blasted away to 60k's then hit the choppers-knowing my luck if I had gone any quicker he would've nailed me

The main comment I get is...

"ahhh....daddies car..." to whch I say..."no....I think u'd be mistaken there....I do believe it is my car....I do believe my dad drives a nissan patrol"

Then the usual draw drops and I plant my foot and leave them with the sound of the turbo spooling, the exhaust pumping and the stereo blaring :spoton:

My usual questions are, 'WTF does 'ZADANK' mean?' especially when pulled over for an RBT and rego check.

Nearly every one who has come for a ride in the dank beastie has loved it and had nothing but great if not teriffic comments, even from hardcore Expensive Daewoo drivers.

And it turns a lot of heads as well just cruising down the street.

I love my dank beastie, and so does every one else it seems

Yes I get the odd question here and there. Last year I was at the Yass service centre and came out of the shop to find my T surrounded by half a dozen Comancheros. :spoton: They turned out to be a nice bunch of blokes. Popped the hood for them and ended up chatting for about fifteen minutes. These days I don't get as many people asking about it.
