I now feel that as long as we act as individuals we will not get looked after no matter how far we take it (like department of fair trading) in this department... I for one am ready and willing to sign some sort of group documentation if this is what takes for fomoco to stand up and take notice of the small guy..just my 2 cents worthany other thoughts on what action to take?? Posted 07/05/04 11:48 AM Share Posted 07/05/04 11:48 AM Will definately put my name to a petition or whatever.Discussed with my service manager about the SRS (drivers side air bag [side one] )revised wiring bulletin and revised bush for the diff hat centre mounting bolt replacement too.Am getting them to look at a flat spot I get at 4000rpm to 4500rpm which became evident during my dyno test today, suspect a EMC setting fault, nothing of too much concern........yet! Perhaps the angle change of the rear geometry was enough to relieve some shunt/slack but if my shunt is a result of variations in clearances of the box, diff and rear axles then the results of lowering could be very different. l couldnt imagine having the car any lower, l live in the country and are constantly aware of scrapes and have had a few close calls. For the $800+ cost of a good lowering job l would prefer to have a diff place do some work on fixing the problem.Cheers. Posted 08/05/04 01:20 AM Share Posted 08/05/04 01:20 AM A conversation with a disgruntled HSV owner..........true story. Was at the local Shell garage yesterday and was walking back to my car after paying the bill when I spies a VY HSV Clubbie next to the fox, guy asks me if the 'fox' is mine (chest puffs out, start to strut), "yep" I says to which this guy says he is selling his "heap of Sh!t" (his words) for a BA GT. He reckons he has scrubbed two sets of rear tyres since new and the handling and back end of his car is cr@p!! He was one very unhappy chappie. Of course I gave glowing reports on the GT as well as the brake squeal problem I have got (Ford fix.........soon!! ). He asked me about the difference in the GT and the GT-P, and has decided to go the GT as he could'nt justify the extra for the P and does'nt plan on doing a lot of track work.So there you go, whatever car you choose there is always the risk of a lemon! Although that does'nt justify Ford's customer service (or lack there of) when you have a genuine issue. If l were looking for a new car and not biased towards either of the big 2 and had a look around here and the the LS1 forum l would certainly have the perception that Ford owners as a whole are more dissatisfied with their cars. Whether that's reality, who really knows.l have no idea if l will stick with Ford in the future, but one saying that sticks in the back of my mind is "A stupid person is someone who continues to do the same thing over and over but expects a different result" l test drove a VY SS about 18 months ago before we bought our first BA, an XR6T. The driveline in that car was very tight but at the time l thought nothing of it as that's what you expect unless you know otherwise. It does seem to me that Expensive Daewoo too have driveline shunt issues but these arent as prevelent as they are with Ford. That may be due to the less sophisticated IRS but l would be happy with a live axle if my car was a pleasure to drive. Hell l would be happy with anm LS1 that used a litre of oil/1000km, it would still be fun toi drive on a daily basis. As it is, my GT brings little or no driving pleasure around town, its fine on the open road. I was thinking if I ever bought another Falcon (which is doubtful coz ill probarly keep the one ive got for yonks) then id consider a Manual... This results in vibration or a clunk everytime the driveline is loaded and unloaded unless the car is driven so that the driveline is kept in constant tension by riding the clutch and concentrating on matching revs and clutch release carefully as you are on and off the throttle. You will know it when you drive a car with the problem, it makes you feel like you should be putting your L's back on display Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10276-driveline-shunt-with-our-gt/page/7/#findComment-120073 Share on other sites

I have had rear end skiping issues for a while now. I recently had the rear shockers replaced (they were stuffed) and it still happens. I then took it to a "Suspensions Specialist" and they found the problem. Stuffed lower control arm bushes causing rear end Toe alignment to go out. No back tot he dealer to get them to replace the bushes under warranty and try again.. I just HATE living / driving a car that has a problem... Hopefully I have found the real issue..
