Its now official. Ford have inspected my car today and deemed the driveline shunt normal for the model. Fcuking ridiculous.

The car was assessed at Strapp Ford by a FoMoCo Field Engineer who drove the car and confirmed my shunt was typical for the model and there was nothing more that Ford could or would do for me. While l didn't speak to him personally l was told the engineer was very firm on his assessment that all was ok.

After leaving Strapp l took the car to New Oak Ford where l bought it for the second time to see if l could get further with them. This time l went through the sales department and got put onto their Customer Relations Manager. l explained the situation to her and the steps l had taken in attempting to getting the shunt issue resolved. She seemed genuinely concerned. She arranged for the service department to again assess the car so l drove the car around to the service dept with her. l demonstrated the shunt and resultant banging l continually get to her including some low speed "kangaroo" hopping that shakes and reverberates through the whole car. Her face was a picture! Oh well, it was worth it for a laugh if nothing else. Anyhow, the tech then drove the car and agreed (again) that the car did suffer shunt but that it was acceptable according to Ford and normal for the model. Both techs who assessed the car today said something along the lines of "its acceptable according to Ford but we wouldn't be happy with it if we were you"

So there you go. My $60k+ car is normal according to Ford. Well sorry Ford, but its not fcuking normal nor acceptable according to this customer. This is my 3rd Ford in 3 years and l feel very indignant about the treatment l am receiving. Fords CRC is the next stop but l figure that is going to be about as fruitful as all my other efforts to now. l don't see what else l can do except put up and shut up.

So, l wonder what the specs are for the upcoming VZ LS2 powered HSV?

At the risk of saying don't go the Mondie I have to say.....

DONT GO THERE MONDIE!

CRC, well what can I say.......

My Car is still VUR (vehicle under repair) 2.5 months after it was shipped to Melbourne on the 3rd of March, and Ford appears to have blamed the Window tint, then the immobliser, then the Boost Gauge then the Fairmont clock, and now since all those items have been proven not to cause the problem, have informed me that the iPod is to blame, despite the fact the iPod wasn't purchased until 5 months after the problem was reported.

I still have things being done to the car, but should you still wish to pass on comment to Ford Australia CRC then I suggest you talk to Lynda Monardo. But don't mention my name, it would probably be detrimental to your cause!

Cameron,

Is your brother the one looking at the car ?

I am astounded that your problems have not been fixed. grasping at straws by blaiming the frikkin IPod would cause me to launch at these dumkophs.

Do not mess around anymore and involve the office of fair traiding. Ford has had enough time to fix these problems.

Mondie, I would do the same. The goods must be of a merchantable quality and if you got a driveline expert or two to write that what you have is unacceptable then IT IS UNACCEPTABLE and Ford WILL have to listen.

Make sure you document everything and make notes on how much time this is all taking. Remember the squeeky wheel will get the grease.

Ford are bound by consumer laws just like anyone who sells their stuff in this great country. Use the laws to get the justice you deserve.

With the sort of treatment you have recieved, I for one would not blame you. Ford seem to think they are immune from people once a problem arrises. HELLO!?!?! Without us you don't exist! Perhaps someone needs to explain this to them?

Go the way of Dalles QLD and get yourself a near new M5. You don't deserve that kind of treatment when you buy a $15,000 car, let alone a $60,000 one.

:censored: to what seems like typical Ford Customer Service.

Simon,

Sorry to hear the update to this story. Did you actualy take Luke for a drive or did you leave the car with them? I guess it does not really matter.

In my mind if the "Customer" has an issue then the "Supplier / Manufacturer" should be obligated to do everything to resolve the issue. Even if it s just a simple a putting in a new Diff to "give it a go"... I must say I am disapointed by the outcome. :glad: As for the CRC... All they do is "Try" to act as a go between you and the dealer.. They don't have any balls..

Hang in there bud... :w00t2:

Unfortunately I have been there with dealers and the CRC as well.

Gotta laugh if you can.

By now you would have seen my post under City Ford.

Well in response to this, both them and the CRC have tracked me down.

The CRC bloke said he was very disappointed that I had chosen the route I had in publishing my grievances on a public forum. He would have preferred that I dealt with the matter through him. Well I originally did, but after having their field engineer lie to my face I thought enough was enough. :gooff:

Mate, if you have got the patience, stick it to them, otherwise for the sake of your sanity you may be better off doing what a number of other members have done and buying quality!!!

Oh yeah, and before I get lynched that doesnt mean turning to the dark side and buying a HIV :w00t2:

Thanks guys.

After sleeping on it last night l have the fire in my guts more than ever. l will contact CRC today just so l have my complaint logged. Once that proves to be as useless as everyone else has found, l will take Zaps advice and contact the Office of Fair Trading.

Does anyone have any experience with the Office of Fair Trading in Vic? Do they have a seperate motor vehicle division. Hell from what l have read lately they may even have a seperate Ford division

Henry > Its a joke that the CRC bloke was disappointed you shared your woes with a forum. It obviously spreads the message and puts more pressure on them, what an insult to your intelligence.

Bdennis > Didnt hang around but from what l was told it wouldnt have made one iota of difference if l did. Ford are hardline on this, my car is typical and completley acceptable.

Cro > l guess you would kill to only have one problem to deal with :w00t2:

Cameron > Thanks for the contact at CRC, you have obviously found her helpful, l will try the CRC soon.

Cheers.

Sorry to hear your driveline shunt problem has been "fobbed off" mate.

I think looking at HSV will only give you more heartache as they have their issues too.

Have you tried talking to the motoring mags, RAC or other automotive bodies, get the message out there and embarass Ford to action!

Or............

How about putting the Equinox's onto a trailer, finding the Ford CEO's address and start playing him Chad Morgan, Tiny Tim or Macy Gray at 0400 on Sunday mornings! :w00t2:
