Can anyone suggest a good crew close to Fortitude Valley that can remove my C/Muffler? And APS Pete, can your Qld distributor re-tune my Phase III staright after this to ensure no negative impact on power?

I thought the Phase III kit included exhaust? If so I would talk to Peter before removing parts of it cause it may affext the rest of the exhaust. I think most people are only removing the centre muffler on the standard exhaust.

Mate it wont make any additional power if you drop out the centre muffler (will reduce some weight and make more NOISE that's all). :innocent:

If you want more power/response drop out the cat converter (for drag racing only) by making up a cat delete pipe, or if you want let me know and I will have the APS guys make one for you.

Thanks Pete!

Nah, I just want to make some more noise :w00t2: - nothing to do with power increases - my car is scary enough as it is in the congested streets of Fortitude Valley. I just want to make sure that power doesn't actually decrease if I go down this path. :glad:

p.s Howz life down in Melbourne? It's been a while since I popped in for a chat about where you're up to in future Phase developments. When you've developed what you believe is the best possible performance upgrade package for your Phase IV, count me in as your first customer and one lucky bas*ard. :w00t2:

I find it very hard to believe that removing the center muffler on a system that has no cat resitrictions will not increase flow and therefore power.

Ive done this on my car and it sounds better and performs better. :mexicanwave:

Geeseman, We are not discussing the stock Ford exhaust system, I am discusing the APS full turbo back exhaust system. Removing the centre APS muffler does not generate any additional power.

Now I expect you are discussing the stock Ford xr6t exhaust system, We have conducted back to back dyno tests with and without the centre muffler on the same car, same day, same fuel, and I can say with total confidence that the removal of the centre muffler will not generate any additional power. :danceforme:

The removal of the centre muffler does however change the exhaust note (is much louder than the stock exhaust) and the noise emision increases by approx 5dB.
