I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if so what did you do about it. My dealer said that it has to go to a panel shop to fix it. A couple of other 'T' owners that I know have the same problem.Any comments? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/10230-leaking-boot/ Share on other sites

Its pretty drastic that it needs to go to a body shop. l wonder if there is some misalingned panel or very poor panel fit that requires a bit of MIG action to rectify? Can your dealer tell you more on what is needed? justind Member 90 Member For: 22y 14d Location: Melbourne Posted 18/04/04 07:42 AM Share Posted 18/04/04 07:42 AM Depends on where it is leaking. I seem to remember something about the screws being to long or to wide on the numberplate causing water to enter into the boot. This is usually a dealer problem as they put on the numberplates for you when they register the car. AU series had the same fault with leaking boot from the same cause. I think the fix was to bog up the holes and make new ones with the correct sized screws, hence the need for a pannel shop.
