Do a search dude, there is a bunch of in-depth posts about modding the BOV, like the chair-leg cap mod XRTPSI is talking about. Pretty idiot proof instructions on how to do it all :pooh:

IDJIT PROUUF -ya rekon? sounds like me! :spoton:

Any definitive answers yet whether this mod is going to cause unfiltered air to

go into the engine? There was some discussion on this but no final conclusions...

Surely somone knows? I have the chair legs in the shed ready to go!

If you do it right I can't see that happening? BOV are one way valves.

Some people say yes, some people say no.

I have mine with the 9mm hole drilled into it and it is LOUD.

When you do it though just change the clamps to screw type ones and then you can replace it in like 2 minutes even with the car hot.

If you come on the cruise Sunday I will show you how mine sounds to see if you can be bothered doing it.

Cheers

James

Mines loud it the cabin but I don't think you can hear it outside the car. Windows down you can't hear it and I even made the mistake of dosin just before a booze bus and no response at all.

I did this mod last week, and used a small breather pod filter with a 9mm internal hole and a external pipe size of 25mm. Fits straight into the pipe off the b.o.v. Sounds cool, and no worries about dirty air being sucked back in. thanks for the tip guys! :tonguepoke:

Okay , I am going to go against the trend here, I would like to keep the sneezing to a minimum. At what sort of power is it necessary to have an upgraded BOV? and can you still have a plumb back style upgraded BOV?
