This is why a good (meaning switched on) Policeman will always catch those that actively go out to break the law.

Does that include when the cops break the law..

Go preach somewhere else :k24t:

Don't misunderstand me, there is definitely no preaching going on here.

Just like there are recidivist druggies, armed robbers, thieves etc, there are recidivist speeders.

I'm not talking the ordinary guy that sits 10 to 20 over the limit on a reasonable road, but the guy that hammers through towns (on the City Link or the M4 etc) at well over the limit or on a frequented road such as The Newell, The Mitchell, Great Western and other Highways where they are sitting on the 160 +, overtaking on double yellows etc

That's the guy I'm talking about and that is why they are dangerous to others. If you listen to truckdrivers you have a general consensus as to road conditions, but these idiots don't do that. The CB is like having the best view of the road ahead so you can plan but when you're travelling at over 54m/p/s things happen awfully quickly. They go way too hard on roads that are well travelled.

Now if we are talking the Barrier Highway, then it is sparsely travelled and apaprt form the emus and other wildlife, speeds higher than the posted limit are generally safe.

As for cops breaking the law, in most cases we are exempt from most legislation when we are doing our duty........apart from the military in a proclaimed warzone or under Federally sanciotned martial law, who else can legally shoot another human being. It is not a power trip.....it is an extremely heavy burden to carry when your actions, however minor, can be examined in the High Court with the luxury of using a microscope to examine hindsight.

I went to a wedding on the weekend and the best man was the guy who is now known as the "Doonie Bomber". He was the guy last year that stuck 20kg of fertilizer bomb in an abandon car and blew it up in Doonside (west sydney).

The jokes were flying as to what a blast his speech was etc

He was very lucky no to go to gaol. He got 200 hrs community service and $6,000 fine, I think the police and judges realised that he was not a wanton terrorist, just a very stupid guy. :o

The guy seemed nice, but you could tell he was a bit dull :puke:

For the people who do not tick the rectum adaptor..... :spoton:

The unit is a remote unit that sits behind a plastic part of the bumper. The unit is not inhibited by plastic, so it can be completley consealed.

There is a remote speaker that is located in the cabin and it can be activated by many means. Unused switches, removable plugs, etc...

When a signal is detected it beeps, but there are no lights.

Contrary to the laws they do work very well and they also make you more aware of the conditions and your speed.

I am hoping there will be a spot behind the bar when the T eventually arrives :spoton:
