I got the premium brakes on my XR6T.

The way I see it, even if they only improve stopping by say 5%, they only have to save you in one emergency, and they have pretty well paid for themselves. Paid, in money, time & anguish, that is.

I agree 100% about rating vehicle safety as the Number 1 priority! :spoton:

When I think of my loved ones and the dear ones of others, I can not even begin to think about compromising safety and security, but that's just me. So if I ever had a few thousand dollars and was deciding whether to make the T go quicker, or make it look more schmick, or add to safety and security, I would first choose safety and security...then scrounge around for more money to make it quicker and schmicker.. :o

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. :o

I totally agree with Dr Z. Safety in the vehicle is of utmost importance. When I get around to ordering my T, (not long.. next week hopefully!!) I will be optioning the Premium brakes and the side airbags.. and any other safety relevant stuff.

I didn't order them originlally, but after a few days on this site I rang back and optioned them up.

I'm really happy with them. They squeal a bit, but they stop well time after time and they feel great. I knew if I didn't get them I'd be sorry every time I stepped on the pedal. I've had a car with bad brakes before, and didn't want to even worry about it with this car.

It's nice to know you have the extra stop as well as the extra go.

but get the shooosh shooosh at low speed in the car park

I get that shoosh shoosh sound too. I hear it every day in the car park. Is it the brakes dragging or something scraping or what?

I heard two BA's go past me while I was sitting at a roadside cafe a couple of weeks ago. They were making the sound as well.

I took mine to the dealer a couple of weeks ago as I had a score in the front left disc and thought it may be this making the sound. They removed the 'foreign item' from the brake pad as said it's all fixed.

Yes well it's still making the sound. I was reminded of it this morning when a XR6T drove past me at a shopping centre making the noise as well.

They must know what is making this sound and how to fix it if so many BA's are making this noise, surely?! My car has done it (as far as I can recall) from at least 2,500km. It has done 7,000km now.

We have done about 2,000k/lms since having the fronts machined, and Qfms fitted, feel very good under hard braking, and less brake dust aswell.
