god knows if the injectors can flow that much and the fuel pump will have to flow pretty good prob 350 gph and maintain fuel pressure at about 6- 7 psi ...there alot of things to be considered no jus ecu it can become very costl at the end of the day at least we know we have the basics there though for 17psi the comp will have to be brought down abit aswell that means milling down the pistons or u might aswell change them altogether cast iron rods at 450 kws urt5 talking of 500hp + I dont know about that how long is this motor gonna last maybe u gotto do a sonic test on the block those 250 cubers are pretty thin u know u dont want a piston too shoot out becareful bud

I reckon a change over to forged pistons wouldn't be too costly and get the stock rods pinshot and I-beamed with some decent bolts and we might just crack 650bhp but as it has been said in the topic earlier, the 'box will cope with an increase of power and torque but not DOUBLE!!! then there's the clutch, your gonna need big bickies for that.....I think with about 10-12psi on 98ron should give about 400-450bhp with a decent pipe, even with that you're going to start have clutch problems. For me personally I would want it to be all controled by the chip so it can be made removable for servicing, thus no damage to my warrentee, wishful thinking but it's possible....

Dave.

Can I ask a serious question here.

All this talk about increasing power, are we all seriously going to do this, or are we just dreaming. I'm hearing a lot of figures thrown around, but not many people doing what they are talking about. I'm not saying it's wrong to dream, but come on guys show me a 450kw XR6T and fark I'll be impressed, and of course then want to know how!

But until then...

So far I only know 1 person who is doing some serious mods to the XR6T, and he is dynoing the car after each Mod. (the benefits of owning a workshop with a dyno huh!)

He seems to have gone a little quiet lately... I suspect that he is working on cracking the ECU.

I told him about these forums, but havent seen him join up yet.

Well I am definitely going to put a full exhaust, air filter and ECU chip to up the boost to around 9-10 psi as soon as this becomes available...so I'm hoping for around 300kw and that's where I will stop until I see what happens with the drivetrain reliability of the "crazier" modified xr6t's.

Cheers.

6 - 7 psi ??? Methinks you'd need much more than that ...
