Petrol Question

Most PULP come with detergent additives that clean out carbon deposits - that's probably the reason for occassionally running premium

I dont know about other places but my friend who works at Shell says that both their ULP and Optimax have detergents and additives to protect and clean the engine. They just have differing amounts. Using aftermarket cleaners like Nulon and such is not going to do your car much good. It works well if your car is old and gluggy, but in a new car, best policy is to buy petrol from reputable dealers.

Unless you're a full throtle driver then I'd save your $$$ and use ULP.

Put that extra $5 that you saved toward your 300kw upgrade package. :D

good mine robbo, lately I've been a Caltex Vortex 98 man, cos that's all you can bloody get in Sydney! I used to use BP Ultimate though, and Optimax. I did notice worse fuel consumption on the Optimax though, and I think I'll stick with Clatex, seems good!

From the performance perspective I would recommend trying mobil's synergy 8000, every car I've owned has felt a bit perkier with a tank full of that gear, never noticed much benefit from optimax and bp ultimate appears to be somewhere in between to me

I use bp ultimate, I have too noticed extra soot look during usuage.

also use united 95e10 we dont get the 98 here it was ok for pricew no dramas on it.

use ulp in winter here but soon as it not winter back over to 98, just due to the heat to help it out a little.

used mobile premium it was ok, but my pick is been the caltex vortex 98.

I am in Bundy Qld for reference.
