I have spoken to Ian @ Amberleys and I hope to get a slight retune next week some time, I'm also looking at having 2 switchable tunes. Not sure if the switchable tunes will be next week or not but it would be great to have a normal tune and then a performance tune for drag/ track days. :kissmy:

Hi Geea,

Just wondering, if your last tune was optimised for your current mods, what can be done in a "performance" tune and why wasn't this done in the first place?

Cheers,

Mick

Hey Mick, my last tune was done when the injectors were installed. Ian told me after the tune that he could put a little more boost in it but that the extra heat this would generate would be bad for the long term use of the car. I have also since learned that the boost was mapped in such a way as to protect the driveline a bit and not be too violent. If I'm able to have a switch I will be able to keep my current setting for normal use and have a "performance" setting for racing. The "performance setting would have a little more boost with a more agressive tune lower in the rev range.

Makes sense.

I'll be interested to see what times you are able to achieve with the two types of modes. If it's successful I wouldn't mind trying something similar.

So you'll have a Gman 350kw tune & a wifey 200kw tune. Works for me, each one should be connected to either Key remote. Just make sure you pick up the righ set of keys. :nyyaah:

Not sure at this stage George. Maybe Lachlan can enlighten us. I hope to find out next week though.

That sounds like a good plan Scotty. :nyyaah:

I think at this stage though I'd be looking at having a 350kw and a 380kwish versions. Wifey doesnt drive the "T" much she's low on points.

When she gets her points back hopefully I can have those 2 modes and a 3rd valet mode. :pinch:

Hey Scotty, We could do that you know. Mind you if she pays me more, your quarter mile times might get slower too :spoton:

You just put a switch in and toggle between the two maps. You (Scotty) can have an illuminated pink switch if you need but any ordinary SPST switch will do. :spoton:
