How much more torque are you making now Geea?

Id be estimating somewhere around the 500Nm at the wheels?

I'm not sure.I have actually just (Friday morning) asked Ian for a torque print out. He told me it was actually measured as tractive force (or similar) and that he would get Marty to do some conversions then email it to me. When I find out I'll post the results.

I have found out that a Walbro fuel pump was installed. I'm not sure on the size though.

Geea,

It's probably the same one that I run in my car.

Here's a sample link to a place that sells them..... just fyi .... but I did not get mine from this place. I just looked it up on the web.

Seems like a pretty good price too ... at $365 for a 550HP pump.

Note that this is a factory replacement, rather than an in-line additional pump.

I think that is a better option

Yep that's what I believe too. I have replaced the factory pump which now resides in my garage with the new one. :spoton:

With all the replacement part I have in the garage I will be able to build a new "T" soon. :spoton:

Just a different view point for others to consider, it's not all about increasing power and torque, engine durability is an important consideration and high exhaust back pressure is a KILLER of turbo engine's. :banghead:

The stock exhauast system has massive exhaust back pressure at 250rwkw yet alone 300rwkw, a bi product of of high exhaust back pressure is elevated thermal loads on internal engine components (pistons, cyl head, inlet and valves).

Obviously this high exhaust B/P will have a detrimental impact on engine life ( and should be avoided like the plague) as it will on any turbocharged engine at a high power level.

Low back presure exhaust systems provide high power with lower thermal stress on engine components, which provides engine components the best chance to survive at higher than stock power levels. :hrmm:

? The ford engineers that we asessing the xr8 here said that the engines required back pressure. Valve life wouldn't be an issue with a turbocharge engine due to the back pressured required by the turbo. Turbo 101 has always been less restrictive exhaust better engine and turbo performance. :glad:
