Hey LOK,

Are you going to start selling the Nizpro stuff separately ala APS?

Im at stage 2 and would like to go higher, except that I think the intercooler system on the nizpro kit may be better than APS.

im interested to know as well

Just a different view point for others to consider, it's not all about increasing power and torque, engine durability is an important consideration and high exhaust back pressure is a KILLER of turbo engine's.

The stock exhauast system has massive exhaust back pressure at 250rwkw yet alone 300rwkw, a bi product of of high exhaust back pressure is elevated thermal loads on internal engine components (pistons, cyl head, inlet and valves).

Obviously this high exhaust B/P will have a detrimental impact on engine life ( and should be avoided like the plague) as it will on any turbocharged engine at a high power level.

Low back presure exhaust systems provide high power with lower thermal stress on engine components, which provides engine components the best chance to survive at higher than stock power levels.

Ian at Amberley said the same as Peter. He told me that I could increase the boost by 1-2psi over what I already have if I choose. He said that he hadn't increased it past what he had set it because the gains would be minimal and that the extra heat generated would seriuosly affect the long term health of the car.

Both Lachlan and Peter (and Ian) agree that my exhaust is at its limits. Peter would say that it is a little past its limits and Nizpro would say it has a small margin left. I think this is what makes this forum great, we have 3 different tuning companies with different ideas comparing thoughts on our cars components. I really appreciate the imput of all the experts as it has made it possible to do what I have done already. People who are following this thread will know that if they want to achieve over 250-300rwkw's that at this stage the exhaust will need modifying. Brian (BCL) has a monster system for those keen on massive power, APS have there system which is matched with their phase II and III kits and can be bought on its own and Chiptorque is developing a solution that should be ready soon. All the answers are right in front of us and we can choose the solution which suits us best. that's why this forum is great.

this is all very interesting....

so to achieve 270rwkws, I would be able to get away with changing the cat and center muffler??

so basically from what I've gathered from this thread, I change the cat, the center muffler, the filter and run a high boost version of the APS phase 1 kit and I should be able to make 260-270rwkws....sweet!!!

I think you would also need a second or modified air intake and you would definately need bigger injectors. I believe that the factory injectors are only good for upto about 230rwkw's. You would be able to utilise either the Unichip or the Xede to have the car tuned to the desired level.

Hey lok,

I think 300rwkw has a nice ring to it.

How long do you think the wait will be and what sort of price on the Cat pipes Lachlan? What size will they be and do they have a power/flow rating?

Regarding the finance department. :smilielol:  As far as I know she can only kill me once and I think that's due soon so I should be ok. :smilielol:

Geea. :smilielol:

I'm still finalising them. We're testing two cat bodies 3.5 and 4inch. Pricing dept will come after that. Sorry, I probably shouldn't have mentioned it yet. Realistically, a few weeks my fabricators tell me. I'll post properly then.

I like the comments on the finance dept.

It's something I shall have to talk over in more detail with Simon from Nizpro. It may be possible though. The hardware is very good and I wouldn't think he'd be too worried about separating it. I'll let you know after I've spoken to him.
