My tuner has told me that my current set up is at the limits of the intercoler and exhaust system. He said it was possible to do another 1-2psi of boost but that it would lead to heat and reliability issues. As the car is now its perfect. When its cold it just starts to lose a bit of traction between 4000-5500rpm in first. It doesn't let go but you can hear the tyres loosing grip. As the car heats its still there but only just. This is why I think that if I parked my car for 2-3 hours or more before a drag I might run a couple of 10th's quicker.

At this stage I dont think I'll do any more mods as I think it would make the car less drivable and cause serious traction issues. The only beifit of any extra power to what I already have would be on slicks on the drag strip and I don't see the value in that for me personally. :spoton:

I do have plans to upgrade the brakes in the near future and possibly lower the car a little but the lowering isn't a priority. I have also looked at the possibilty of a stiffer sway bar but this would need a bit more research to find out about the fore's and against's.

so you are running the standard cat and exhuast (expect for the center muffler) with 10psi and the factory valve springs????

APS seem to think this will not work...

Dave.

With Geeas mods anything can be done

thanx dude :),

but I was kinda hoping that Geea would cover my question...

Dave.

Sorry Dave, I thought I covered your question in the post above your last one. I have had the centre muffler removed and replaced with straight through pipes that have flanges.

Nizpro use the factory exhaust on cars alot more powerful than mine, I believe.

If I do go any further with power then the exhaust system including cat will need to be replaced. That along with a bigger intercooler with waste gate actuator mods and stronger valve springs would be my next step. :hammerhead:

At the moment I cant see myself doing any more engine mods till I have improved the brakes and possibly the suspension.

sh*t im still trying to pay for the mods I just got. :idunno:

Dave your not far from me im in East malvern just off Warrigal rd. If you'd like to have a look at my car PM me and we will organise it.

Some people blow their trumpets loudly and some don't.

Some just get on with the job and find the right solutions and then give all you fine readers the feedback on what they did so that you can do it yourselves if you want to! For those curious, yes you can run up to 300RWkW with the standard exhaust and the Nizpro hardware and YES, it is AT or JUST PAST the limit at that point! Don't even worry about the exhaust at 250 unless you have a spring problem or you are searching for more noise.

Outstanding work Geea :innocent:

Thanks for the nice words Lachlan.

If I was to go further what would the best option be. I'm aware that I'm close to the limits of the exhaust and the intercooler. I'm also aware that big gains could be made by altering the plumbing. Which of these would I be best to consider next or are there other things aswell that would need to be considered.

You are at the limit of the balance between intake and Exhaust. Exhaust by it self would yeild little except in circuit racing without intake improvement. It's time for at least Intercooler change and Replacement cat as per BCL's threads. We will have replacement cat pipes shortly if you want to wait.

The Intake Plenum and plumbing change as in the Nizpro kit which we advocate would improve throttle response as well as power and torque.

Ahh decisions! Better talk to the finance department :w00t2:

How long do you think the wait will be and what sort of price on the Cat pipes Lachlan? What size will they be and do they have a power/flow rating?

Regarding the finance department. :ermm: As far as I know she can only kill me once and I think that's due soon so I should be ok.

Hey LOK,

Are you going to start selling the Nizpro stuff separately ala APS?

Im at stage 2 and would like to go higher, except that I think the intercooler system on the nizpro kit may be better than APS.
