Geea,

Finally got to read about your mods!

Terrific results!

All great back to basics staged engineering! I love it!

Inspiration to all, & particularly to me!

Cheers,

Marc...

Thanks Marc. The pleasure I get from driving my "T" is amazing. If I'm able to help a few of you guys experience the same pleasure, it makes it even better.

I took the car back to Amberley last night for them to fit a new piece of hose where the throttle body meets the black turbo crossover thing on top of the engine. After I had fixed it abit before hand the car seemed to be over boosting. After replacing the piece of tube the cars tune was checked and adjusted slightly. The new result for my 10psi map was 262.6rwkw's, a gain of 7.1 rwkw's. I didn't have time to get a dyno of the 12psi map but I believe that the increase was similar which would mean 277rwkw's.

I'm rapt, the car had seemed to be fighting itself abit and now it doesn't feel like it is. I'm looking forward to getting out to Calder and seeing if the difference is reflected in the times.

I'll also be seeing what sort of intake temps the car gets when its running down the strip.

The wings are being developed as we speak but I wont be able to get them installed till after the intercooler. I'll also need to have the full Whiteline suspension package fitted along with some bigger brakes to cope with the landings.

Geea,

I am about to do your home intake mod followed by an Xede. Will I notice an increase in performance from the intake mod only or will I only notice more power ofter the Xede is fitted.

Hey Tex. JB, BlownBA Deek and Tockley have all done the intake mod. All except Deek with my assistance (I was trying to help). All told me that there was a noticable improvement in performance afterwards. You caould give the guys a PM and ask there thoughts.

Geea,

Thanks for your feedback I my PM them later. I would like to do all the mods you have done but I lease my cars and change them every twelve months. It would be a waist and time consuming if I had to change everything back to standard. Doing the intake and Exede should be the easisest way to give the T more grunt. I guess this is the advantage of a turbo.

Geea thanks for directing me to this topic. A very enlightening, simple to understand and cost efficient recipe for improving the turbos performance.(Some of the tech stuff on the forum almost requires an engineers degree to comprehend :well at least for dummies like me.)A thread every newbie interested in mods or those who,ve had their car awhile and now wish to mod should read.Well done and thanks again!
