I have been keeping an eye on my fuel economy since my Geea Stage 3 mods. Ever since I've had the car the fuel economy has been around 17Lt/100km usually 17.2ish.

Since the last mods I have used 174Lt/1140km's. This works out at 15.2Lt/100km. This isn't off the trip computer which isn't acurate any more cause of the different injector size. This is figured on Km's traveled and litres of petrol bought. This includes a trip to Seymor and back which would help.

The last refill was 60Lt/355km's which works out to 16.9Lt/100km. This is even a touch better than what I was getting.

When looking at these figures remember that at most sets of lights I usually floor it up to the speed limit. This wont be helping economy much.

Geea , like wise with my phase 2 I have been achieving approx 10 - 15% bettter economy overall. The DTE and fuel uage measures from the computer are also all over the place due to the bigger injectors, which brings me to the question , is the fuel guage affected ,as my little orange light seems to come on earlier now relative to the indicated fuel left in the tank than before my mods ?

? The ford engineers that we asessing the xr8 here said that the engines required back pressure. Valve life wouldn't be an issue with a turbocharge engine due to the back pressured required by the turbo. Turbo 101 has always been less restrictive exhaust better engine and turbo performance.

Geea, very informative post As I now officially have authorisiation from the Minister For Food Import and Preparation, all I need to do is find the right upgrade package for the T. The Geea Stage 1 & 2 seems to be a very good way of upgrading the T. One question I have is after I have the Xede installed, will I need to have the car re-tuned each time I make another mod(eg. injector upgrade or exhaust?) Once again, great post and thanks for taking the time to summarise your upgrades.

Hey Rob, thanks for your kind words. I know that if you add injectors or anything major it will need to be retuned. If you change the exhaust I would suggest a retune would be a good idea, I suppose it would depend on how much difference the exhaust made. Hopfully Lachlan will provide a more knowledgeable answer.

Geea, I think you actually have a very good handle on it.

If it's a substantial change, it should be retuned. This should only be a small job however except in the case of an Injector change where some serious scaling needs to be done!
