Hi All,

Just after some advice on the best method to remove overspray :spoton: only noticed this the other day after a big clean, it's the strangest thing bonnet to boot a fine mist over the entire car glass and all thankfully it can only really be seen right up close or felt as you run your hand over the paint :crybaby: Some genius has obviously felt the need to paint something close by and the wind has done the rest.

Anyway just want to know if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing and the best method to remove it? I've heard something before about a clay bar cleaner or something similar. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TA

I would test a small spot with Metho or Thinners or acetone as anything abrasive like a claybar will cause scratching.

Thinnkers or acetone will remove about 99% of stuff, but be careful with acetone as it melts rubber. This advice is ONLY for glass as it will also remove paint

If u have parked near a building site recently... it could just be acrylic overspray from an airless spray gun... if this is the case you should be able to wash it off with warm-hottish water and car wash.. Hopefully only acrylic

Prepsol works very well on overspray but you have to be very careful not to start damaging the paint underneath.

l only have limited experience with the stuff but it did the job. l may be wrong but l have heard in the past its what panel beaters use.

I know some people use RP7 to rmove tar of there duco spray wipe and then wash off with soapy water. Test if first or ask a panel beater for advice.

Thanks Guys

Some good options and as suggested will probably try and talk to a local panel beater to get their spin on it. Just wanted to try and avoid buffing for fear of "buff burn" with thin paint as some have mentioned.

Cheers
