XR8 Police Car - AWESOME Sound

I was driving home today (Sun 11 April) to Canberra and as I was nearing the Picton/Wollongong turnoff at 1.45pm when looking back I saw flashing lights in the rear view. Thinking I'm not speeding (I had Cruise Set at around 112-115kmh) I started to go through all the expletives in my head when the XR8 sped past me doing around 160+ (it wasn't chasing anyone that I could tell).

Well I like my T but the noise that car made as it past me has confirmed that the replacement to my T will be a GT (if Ford comes to the party with my paint!!).

Yep. the sound of a sweet V8 on song is hard to go past. You just want to drive around in lower gears with the revs up all of the time.(either that or go real fast)

Dont worry about the paint, make the change and nail them on the changeover

They don't have to be chasing someone. There are many other reason they could have been driving quick.

Yeah......they were in a XR8, need any other reasons???

Take it from me

The sound is SENSATIONAL

ANY excuse will do...but I can tell you anyone who thinks the XR8 is a bit of a dog should wait until it loesens up.

The one that I have at work at the monent has 14k on it, has been back to Ford to have the ECM replaced (they put the speed limited one in) and this thing goes like a dog shot in the bum

It has awesome torque and drive out of corners and the acceleration puts an SS to shame. We also have a Turbo and, whilst it's awesome, it needs to stay on boost to get the best out of it.

Plonky

My police mate tells me you generally break off pursuits at 190kph so why do you guys get a removed speed limited car that can go when limited to 230?

I know the suspension is also modified on the cars but I'm interested to hear if the pursuit rules have changed?
