Would the cooler dense air on a cold night cause this ? I tried to replicate it this morning and I could not. There is no discernable loss of power or mechanical noises so I assume that everything is OK.Any ideasCheersPSI

You can hear it if you listen carefully with high revs on the gear change.
Guest ADICTD Guests Posted 08/04/04 01:06 AM Share Posted 08/04/04 01:06 AM P.S.I - every turbo car has a BOV to release the extra air, the standard ones jus dont make a noticable noise unless its really quiet>> e.g early morning or late nite like you said,

That usaully involves feeling like a goose because you are still going forward whilst the car feels like it has stopped  PSI

Well actually its a lot more complicated than that, but that's the simplest way of explaining it. Completely normal. And sounds I reckon!

I love the sound when you give it a bootfull in manual mode of the SSS and let your foot of the gas.

I wouldn't have thought it was the wastegate as the wastegate opens when you hit 6psi to let excessive exhaust gasses bypass the turbine to stop your car creating any more boost. Therefore in theory our wastegates are opening at say 2500-3000 rpm when we deliver boost and staying open.I reckon it was most definately the BOV realeasing most pressure but if it was a flutter than some of the air in the system would have been going backwards through the compressor, and it hitting the blades giving the flutter, which I love.
