Hey guys.. Started a couple weeks ago, If I put my foot down in any gear and boost it, I.e. from the lights in first gear to 4000rpm, then back off or change to second and keep going, either way soon as I back off, the engine shudders and revs fluctuate quite a bit, the engine almost stalls > I've cleaned out throttle body > air intakes > plugs are still good > always run 98 > let the engine warm up before pushing it > my mechanic gave the car a look over after changing the rear diff bush and said car looks good Any ideas? Anyone have experienced similar issues? Cheers

Howdy Guys! I have been living with one hell of a shuddering problem that comes from the ass end of my T5 packing 2003 BA XR6T when I am releasing the clutch. I changed the diff bush and had no real improvement. I have been driving with it for a few years now but I am finally in the place to spend a bit of money on her and fix her up. I am pretty sure it is a clutch issue, and I have a sneaking suspision that the previous owner installed a new clutch (possibly some sort of a button clutch) that rather than feather, has the old on/off approach. So the shuddering would be coming from the buttons skipping across the fly wheel partially engaging. The shudder is only there when I am taking off but yeah, it can be quite violent if I dont time the release right. I know the old BA's have a bit of a problem with diff shudder but I am hoping to change the clutch and perhaps the fly wheel to alleviate this bastard of a problem. Does this sound like a valid theory? Anyone know of any good clutches for city driving that doesnt make my drive train suffer so badly? Anywhere decent in Perth that actually knows how to work on a car? Thanks for any input!

Hi guys, I have been informed that I'm able to use XR8 valve springs in the XR6 Turbo engine, my question is would it be the Barra V8 or the Boss V8? I'm pretty sure my valve springs are shot, my car is standard apart from a front mount intercooler. When it gets to 2nd and 3rd gear in the higher RPM range it seems to want to stall and shudder. I've replaced my coils, I've cleaned my boost solenoid, tightened the exhaust manifold, but the problem is still there. The funny thing is it only started doing it when I changed the fuel filter, but I don't think that's the problem. First gear there's no problems with the car, it revs right out with no shudder or problems. I have also fitted stock rims on the back of it, I know it might sound stupid but do you think that could be doing anything to the traction control? I run the vehicle without traction control. The only thing I can think of is valve springs, I give the car a hard time but it hasn't been boosted or tuned, it's got 170,000kms. Also if I have to go to the trouble of replacing the valve springs, I was thinking of replacing the whole head with an FG head because I would prefer the better intake manifold and obviously the better head and valve springs, but will an FG head fit on a BA bottom end? Thanks, sorry to go on about it but I'm trying to weigh up my options. Opinions and advice would be much appreciated. Cheers

Hey guys, have a BF XR6T, 2005 model done 60,000kms. It has the usuall gearbox whines etc, however the other weekend I took it away on a trip, and when braking from overtaking cars I noticed a considerable shudder in the steering wheel under braking. It was very intermittent, sometimes noticeable at lower speeds, but predominantly higher ones. So my first thought is that it is brake rotors are warped, however being so intermittent I am now unsure if it actually is. Next thought was wheel bearings, as I was starting to notice a mechanical clunk occasionally trasnferred through the steering wheel. However I am not hearing any sound, and I jacked up my car and gave the wheel a wiggle and its very tight, no movement. DOes anyone have an idea of what it could be? a guy around the office thinks it might be a control arm issue, or maybe bushes. How would I check something like that? I am planning on taking it to a suspension place and getting them to do a full suspension check so I know the condition of the car, as I have only owned it for about 2 months (3,000 kms)
