Hi there, I have a 2011 FG XR6 and was told I needed to replace the rear upper control arm bushes either side. After doing a bit of research and pricing I found it was al lot cheaper and easier to replace the complete control arms with new bushes all round. I got stuck in and started replacing them I fitted the left side first and it was a breeze only took about 40minutes. But I’ve run into an issue with repacing right as I can’t seem to remove inner bush bolt, it’s like it’s been fitted the wrong way around or done so before shell of car was attached to chassis. Has anybody run into this problem before? Does this mean I am going have to unbolt and drop the whole back end to remove the bolt? I Can upload pictures in the morning. Cheers Garry

Hi all, Until a few days ago my car was fine, just noticed a whirring sound when touching the accelerator or accelerating at all. Seems to be when the turbo is spooling up. Car has done 175,000 KM - Manual transmission. Doesn't get flogged very often, take it pretty easy on it since I had the diff rebuilt (A headache in itself. Stay away from Midas in Wooloongabba QLD) I took my car to the mechanic this morning to have them take a listen, bloke came for a short drive and he said it sounded like turbo is shot. He said it would cost about $1500 to replace the turbo... Is this accurate? It does seem to be turbo related due to the whirring, winding, electronic type sound when there is some pressure going through it. Just after some advice from others. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, sorry its been a while. I have been really busy, my battery light has been flickering lately. I know its a bad alternator due to a leaky high pressure steering pipe o-ring. Im about to change the pipe and I went to go get a new alternator sorted out for when the pipe is fitted. My problem is that the part number on on it (3r23-10300-ba) says its for a 2 pin BA alternator , but my alternator is a 3 pin . .... I did some research to find that everywhere says that part number is a ba 2 pin alternator that is 12volt and 110 amp. The only 3 pins are the BF alternators , but they are 130 amps and 12 volts. and a totally different part number. The guy at the autospark shop was confused as I was . My car is a may or june 2005 xr6t ute. im assuming I should get a bf 3 pin as I cant change the wiring loom for the alternator as I know the third pin is read/controlled by the computer, im just hoping the brackets line up . im still a little confused why I would have a bf alternator (being 3 pin) but with a BA part number and only 110 amp instead of the bf 130amp??? Is this possibly some crossover error from the BAmkii to the BF?

Can anyone tell me if a 2004 BA Falcon XR6 Turbo has a single mass flywheel or a dual mass flywheel? I'm replacing the clutch and need to know if I can get the flywheel skimmed or if I need to buy another flywheel (or convert to single mass)! Any help would be appreciated.

I got sick of using $15 blade replacements as they only lasted 4 months if that, and I wanted to get rid of the metal supports for the blade, probably why the blades weren't lasting that long. Well I found a solution....If anybody is about to change their wiper blades with winter coming up. I highly recommend the Bosch Aerotwin wiper blades http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/html/5534.htm. I paid $65 incl postage on ebay, might be able to find cheaper. Have other people used these?

Hi Everyone, I have a BF MK II XR6 Turbo that has been sitting in a Ford dealers yard in Melbourne for a year. The turbo blew causing the engine to go and it was 100 km under the extended warranty km limit. Because the last service was done interstate and they didn't stamp the book, the dealer has refused to fix it under warranty and as I have cancer I cant afford to pay the $7000 they want to charge me to fix it. Today they told me they will buy it for $3000 or they will report it to the police as a dumped car and have it removed. I cant afford to take them to VCAT to try to have this resolved and my illness makes me unfit to fight it out with them either. This car was my pride and joy I saved a long time to buy it from a dealer I has used many times before over the years and as much as I am mad as hell that they wont fix it, I need to get it repaired as I may have to sell it to pay for my next round of cancer treatment. Does anyone have any ideas on how I might resolve this or any ideas on how I could get it running again for less than the $7000 they are quoting me. I hate the thought of having to sell my beloved car but I may have no choice and selling it running is obviously going to be a better option. Thanks in advance for your help.Oh and I have been a member for a long time but I cant remember my user details so I just used my Facebook to get in here to ask. My 2 girls told me to get on here and ask, thank god for teens and Facebook I say lol. Thank you for any ideas you have to help me sort this out.
