Need help diagnosing a bad ticking noise from the ps pump area. It almost sounds like valves ticking it is a repetitive metallic sound . I am sure that it’s coming from the ps pump. That’s what I’m hoping, if not if it is there is something seriously wrong with the motor. That asside, This noise is some times not noticeable on start up when cold though once warm it starts. The noise will disappear or at least quieten down while the steering is being turned depending on the force applied to the wheel. Everything works perfectly fine, power steering fluid is full and no excessive noise from engine when driving. Has anyone else had this issue.?

G’day ladies and gentle joeys. How do we go about bleeding the power steering pump, there seems to be 100 methods out there. Have had a sh*t of a time with the power steering pump on my FGX turbo And I’m committing to replacing the pump.

If anyone has removed the circlip with success can you please let me know how to? Been at this clip for over an hour. Tried scribe, screwdrivers, G-clamping, nothing will move it and there is no holes - its just a piece of metal. -
hi everyone I got a xr8 power steering pump and I was going to fit it to my bf typhoon, but when I match up the xr6 pump with the xr8 pump they bolt on diffrently and the xr8 one has a bigger pully, has anyone do this that could help me. or can the xr6 one be modifid to have a remote mounted resvior? thanks regards daniel
