  1. Hey guys new to these forums and also owning an xr6 turbo. Only ever owned subarus and Evos. I have A 2012 FG xr6T with 177xxxkms. Service history since new. had it for a couple of months now and noticed when coming off WOT or hard acceleration there is a clunk noise feels like two clunks. Only ever happens when coming off the throttle hard if you roll off it does not happen. Was wondering if this is diff bushes or something only thing I've done is new centre bearing as it was shot. Cheers in advance guys appreciate any advice.
  2. hello all so my now that ive had my xr tuned up, affected my warranty, now the problems start to flood in!! 2 years stock,3 months with 300kw now its gotta desont list of problems turbo manifold bolt broken 858.00 timing cover oil leak 1381.12 replace rear dif mounts/ bushes, diff reseal and replace left hand rear diff out put seal 1605.31 turbo leaking oil 82.50 front brake pads 236.04 total $4162.97 my plan is to go em for warranty I haven't touched the turbo or the manifold or the timing cover , I have increased power so I might leave out the diff and the bushes wont be covered anyway and ill do the brakes my self .ill get Aitkenvale auto and dyno to do the rest they said itll be about 800-1000 to do the diff so what does everyone think of the prices they quoted I think its very expencive and could some one please tag a link on hear so I can have a look at whats involved in resealin the timing belt cover thanks you help is appreciated
  3. hello all . ive just got my 08 fg turbo auto back from the shop , if anyone can remember I had a post up getting advice on what I should get done, original plan was to get my turbo front cover changed and upgrade the waste gate and actuator and go for 370-400rwkw but I ended up being about $1000 short so I coulnt afford to get the turbo and fuel pump done so I stuck with the stock turbo , the end result is impressive bottom end power but its a bit dull in the top end, I find that if I change gears at about 4500 rpm it gos way harder and will spin the tyres but it seems to drop away after 5000 , so the car apparently makes 302.9rwkw @about 4900rpm and 1226NM @ 3180rpm @ 20-21psi of boost no boost graphs were given so I cant confirm this its just what they said also cant see if its holding that pressure all the way through the rev range I suspect its dropping in the higher revs mods include rapid systems v2 pipe's cooler and turbo side intake Exforce 4inch turbo back system mild steel H/D valve springs injectors ( doesn't say what size or brand) x-cal 3 and dyno tune now that you know how the cars set up my main concern is boost pressure lack of boost control ( max boost) and lower than average power for more boost than most people with same power more torque than most people with the same power (dyno run in 3rd) dyno shop is known for good work and wasn't cheap they said it was safe and that the auto box was the reason its not making the 320-330kw mark but at the same time ive got friends with similer mods making more but through different dyno companys with the auto + countless people on hear saying they made a little over 320 so im a little bit worried that somthings not quite right any info or advice pointers would be would be sweet Thanks
  4. well I finally got my membership card in the 300 club on friday. after terrorizing the v8's in S/ST class at Sydney dragway with 251rwkw in my 2011 FG turbo, I think I'm going to scare the crap out of them now A huge thanks must go to Joe Jason and Shane at CMS Sydney, and Chris from Rapid Systems for the work and products on the car. we added to the car on top of the 100 cell Ballistic cat and dump pipe: Rapid Systems V2 intercooler kit with battery relocation DBA T3 4000 front rotors with Ferrodo pads Walbro in tank pump Seimens 80lb injectors CMS E70 tune and 98 tune we've only done the E70 tune so far, it ran up a figure of 314.8rwkw and 777.8Nm torque with the stock cat back system on it. So hopefully I can get the 98 tune tweaked and attempt to use that for the street and keep the E70 for the drag strip. I'll get an aftermarket exhaust soon (not in too much of a hurry for it ) test and tune is on this weekend coming so I'll hopefully see an 11 second 1/4.
