Just bought my 3rd BA Falcon and got one without premium sound/colour screen but has an aftermarket Headunit (kdc-X7100DAB) and wires for a sub in the boot. But no tweeters in the A pillars and the front speakers sound WEAK compared to my old premium sound Falcon. What do I need to do to get properly good speakers, I've heard the 5 x 7 size isn't amazing but want to know what size I can go to and how to get it to fit (no rattles too). I assume I'd need a new AMP? What sort should I be looking for and how do I install or replace it? And Tweeters is it worth buying A pillars with the speaker grilles and putting in tweeters? How would I wire in the tweeters since it isn't premium sound. And Finally do I put a sub in the parcel shelf or the boot? Sorry for all the questions but want to do this properly

Hi all, I am interested in installing a sub and amp while retaining everything else stock (head unit, speakers) what would be the simplest way to install these in the boot, I am usto slapping an after market head unit in running the rca's down one side of the car and the power wire down the other hooking up the remote wire and basicaly done.. dose the STD head unit have the rca's output at the rear? if not how would I go about this? Thanks for the advise in advance...

Hi Guys, First post. Just purchased a BA XR6 Turbo - Very happy with her so far. The previous owner installed an aftermarket head unit that is connected to all the speakers. He also had an aftermarket sub and amp (found the power cable running from the battery) however I cannot find where the power cable leads to as he removed them. The power cable ends in the dash (near the head unit). Anyway - The factory sub and amp are still hooked up to the ICC (when I switch it on and put on the radio the sub plays the bass). What I need to know is how to I connect the factory amp to the aftermarket head unit? Is it easy to do, or quite difficult? The sound system is average at best, I think he installed the factory speakers back in before he sold it. Im going to buy some Soundstream 5x7's and replace the fronts and rears. Regarding the tweeters - Do you need to rewire them completely with separate component kits... or can you plug and play aftermarket tweeters straight in? Thanks in advance. Nick -
Hi all, I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone with experience could help me out. I have a few things I am planning on doing to my 2007 BF XR6: 1. Install an aftermarket head unit (I have purchased this: JVC Mechless Bluetooth/iPod/MP3 Player) (I have also bought this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260737641682) 2. Replace all factory speakers (I have purchased this: Fusion 6" 2 Way Speakers (Note: I have bought the converter and not sure if I should buy another pair of these or the same brand but factory sized speakers) 3. Install a subwoofer and amplifier (It is a sub and amp combo: Economy Active 12" Subwoofer) (Needs 10 gauge wire) Could someone people help me out in terms of how I should go abouts connecting the headunit. I have been searching and searching all day tbh. Then some information/guide on how it all connects and works :/ Many thanks!!! (Merry Christmas) -
Hi all, I was wondering if I could use an external amp connected through high level input from the factory sub amp input (see attached image). The inputs I was looking at bridging into are in+ and in- . Also the amp I will be using is a 2 channel and the high level input has 4 wires (I guess two for each channel) would I only need to connect one channel? Thanks,

Hi guys some picks of my custom fg ute install, with I took the the MEASQ Competition in ACT in September this year. All panels and sub box are custom press fit and require no fixings or screwing to the car in any way. this includes the amps!!!! The setup is now in the process of stripping out to make way for new setup for the 2012 season, hope my ideas may help others with this model fit their stereo gear in. I will post more pics of the new system once I get around to fabrication. the system components Rainbow splits in doors and a-pillars Rainbow Rears JL Audio for tweeters Alpine PDX 4.150 for all speakers Alpine M6 for sub Rainbow Amboss 10" Sub 2 farad Cap and a sound processor. The next challenge is to fit even more gear into my new setup. I hope this helps with anyone struggling to find practical room for their gear.
