Hey guys, I’ve bought a basically stock FG turbo, 6 speed auto, and it has low compression in cylinder one and a rough idle. Leak down test indicates rings are shot. Anyway I have been going through various rebuild options and they are all either expensive or half a job or I do the rebuild myself as my first try. Anyway, I am looking at buying a long motor (street torquer 550) straight from ATOMIC which costs about 14k, which was roughly the same as a rebuild from TBRE which is local here in Toowoomba where I live. Does anyone have one of these engines? I can’t find much info and no reviews anywhere. I’ve read on another post they can be noisy, forged Pistons etc. but some people say the timing chain is also noisy but the Pistons are so loud people have sold their new atomic engine.. so any advice would be great. I will be using the car as a daily to and from work and on lunch breaks for short runs etc. also a few runs at the track but mostly street use. Intentions of adding Pulsar Gtx3582 or 4(opinions please), 50mm gate, antz stage 2 piping and turbo side intake, it already has autotecnica big cooler, 3.5 or 4” turbo back exhaust, 1000cc injectors, walbro 460, sx-f fuel reg, oil cooler and trans cooler both thermosatted, has a new Fenix rad and atomic thermostat I put on, I am going to do 4x DBA T3 rotors and NS400 pads plus Toyo Proxes T1 Tyres. Total spend including car is about 35k plus tune at FORCED PERFORMANCE (maybe $1500), would this be considered good value for money? And I’m hoping for a reliable 500-600hp what do you think? Thanks Heaps Fellas! -Callum

I'm considering buying the 1400hp half shafts from the driveshaft shop. My Fg makes 814hp and I don't want to have to do the diff or half shafts again. I'm in a wheelchair and I need to be able to get in my car and have no issues. Has anybody used these or the 700hp versions, any and all recommendations would be really apreciated! Apologies if this topic has been covered but I couldn't find anything when I used the search.

gday guys, new to the forum so not sure if im posting in the right spot but.. just purchased an 08 bfII xr6 turbs 2 weeks ago, list of mods include; -bigger fuel pump -injectors -4in dump -hi-flow cat -HDI intercooler & piping kit -12psi actuator -ported wastegate -SCT flash2 -k&n pod ,opened up box probably a few more things but you get the basics.. car has had a number of dynos after each mod and last was 369.8rwkw tuned by bruce heinrick in adelaide my problem is it just doesnt seem to have the kick in the pants it had when I 1st got it.. its seems the mid throttle response is somewhat laggy and restricted, accelerating at half throttle it surges like its half spooling up and the gear changes are a bit funny sometimes.. unless I give it a boot full it does break traction (even with traction on) but doesnt seem as spirited.. I have lubed the boost solenoid and checked all piping for leaks but am new to turbo cars.. have always been a ford man and a petrol head.. I own a 69 xt falcon with an off tap 347 stroker in it.. any advice would be appreciated.. cheers, and look forward to chatting more adam

gday all, just bought a bfII xr6t, has 4in stainless dump and high flo cat, it currently has the stock cat back system fitted but came with cat back xforce 2.5 in twin that the previous owner removed cause it was too loud.. pretty sure the car was tuned with the xforce exhaust.. my question is.. will the stock cat back system effect the tunes performance??
