So as I have mentioned in previous threads, I am currently in the process of a turbo upgrade which includes an external wastegate setup. My brothers car already has this setup so it makes for a perfect car to learn off of and replicate how its done. I thought it was plumbed up exactly like the factory wg was (TLDR, it is) but I noticed a tee-off on the boost reference line that comes straight off the compressor housing. Following the tee, it led me to what I now know is a Hobbs Switch. My brothers car has a process west surge tank, and I believe it has 2 pumps fitted to it. But this has me thinking, what is the Hobbs switch used for? I'm guessing it may have something to do with the surge tank as a form of staging the pump, but that is my only guess. The hobbs switch is connected between a relay and ground, so I'm thinking its used as some sort of trigger switch for the relay, hence why I think it could be for the surge tank. What do you all think this setup could be used for if not for staging pumps? It had me stumped for a while because I had no idea where the tee was going to, took me a while to find the hobbs switch 🤣 Here is my crappy reference as to how it is connected to the boost reference -
Hi, I've purchased a s/h 460 internally mounted process west surge tank but no instructions were included. Could someone please upload the instructions to install and how to wire it up (I have the wiring loom for it) and the specs of the bolts mount it to the car as those didn't come with it either. I'm going to assume it bolts up somewhere on the LHS chassis rail? Thanks -
Hi everyone! Currently my fg turbo makin 400plus kw with intak walbro 460. Bt I wanna go wid surge tank setup!! After changing with surge tank setup do I need to retune my car again?????

Hello People, So after a huge debate I'm getting a surge tank installed, Is it worth buying a pre-assembled Surge tank such as the process west or the plazmaman 1.7L tanks. Or install One myself using the parts I will show below: http://www.ebay.com....=item35bf1cb47e http://www.ebay.com....984.m1423.l2649 My question to all you smart people is the following: 1. Where do I install the surge tank, mounting issue? 2. What fittings, cables would I need 3. Is the 1.5L tank shown enough? 4. Anybody recommend a different fuel pump over the bosch 044 external 5. Anybody have a diagram for the installation of a surge tank on a xr6 turbo? I have searched over the net before I hounded everybody again on the forums, but I didn't get anywhere. So I'm left with the professionals haha. Any help at all appreciated, I just don't have a clue about surge tanks.
