Hey guys looking for some advice. I converted my BA to a 6 speed manual and am about to wire up a reverse lockout solenoid Control box that actives under 8 kmh. The control box requires input from the vehicle speed sensor VSS. Some cars have this on the gearbox. But with the falcon the speed reads off the wheel bearings and into the abs? Can I tap into the two wire speed sensor from the back of the wheel for my VSS? Will abs affect any of this? Completed Turbo Conversion, Issue With Speed Sensor

Hi Guys, I have just finished changing my na ute to turbo. I removed the old na engine and looms, fuse box, ecu and swaped with turbo stuff. After all that I had my ecu programmed and off I go. The ute is a pretty fast ride now though I do have one issue. The doner car was 4 speed automatic and so is mine. I have used all the looms from that very same car. I am using my na auto for now, but when connecting the turbo engine loom to my auto I noticed that there are 2 plugs and not 3 as my old motor loom has. My old loom has a black plug, a round clear/white plug and a three pinned plug (which is the speed sensor plug) I have unrapped the turbo loom and found 2 wires that go to this plug arnt there though there is a grey bridged wire that is. Without this speed sensor connected my car is in third gear, limp mode, does not shift gears from third and wont rev above 3000rpms. The dash D is also flashing. My question is do you know how to wire my speed sensor and to where ? Its just 2 wires that are not connected of the three that are meant to be. Attached is a picture I found on the net of the plug I refur to which is bottom right. The plug has three wires brown, purple/white, grey (which is connected. but the picture shows a reverse sensor which my box does not have.and other plugs which mine dosent need. My ute is ford xr6 2002 ba with a 2005 xr6t motor. -
Just replaced my o2 sensors on the ute & noticed the one behind the cat had a blue connector on the loom & the other at the turbo had a green one. The plugs were basically the same save for the indexing tabs on the sensors themselves. I snapped the tabs off the sensor & just plugged it in to the loom. My understanding is that o2 sensors are pretty much to a standard & they should work when plugged in. So far, no warnings/limp, economy seems better, power is good. Anyone know if there is a difference? (couldn't imagine they would use two different sensors like that surely? I'll ask a former FPV sparky I work with tomorrow as well)

Hey Guys! Im very new to this so fogive me if ive posted in the wrong place. Ive recently bought an 2005 Xr6 Turbo BA mk2. 150,000k's on the clock. Before purchasing I had a vehicle inspection done and it came back positive. However the other day I noticed quite a different whistling sound from the turbo. It almost sounded like it was ringing at higher speeds. I let the engine warm up and gave it a hard go. It got up to about late gear 3 around 90kms and the whole turbo cut out and the cars speed dramatically dropped. I pulled over and the car was still slowing down, shaking as if it was about to stall. I turned it off and back on and it was fine. This hapepend twice after I gave it a bit of juice. Ive heard this could be the TPS or another sensor, but I was wondering if anyones had the same problem?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Alex

I've had my car for 6 months and am yet to get 400km from a full tank, fuel economy seems to be getting worse. Car has done 108000km so I'm guessing o2 sensors arn't as efficient anymore, just have a few questions. Do the fg xr6t's come with one or two o2 sensors? anyone have part numbers and prices? if car has 2 o2 sensors then do they both have to be replaced? a seller on ebay sent me this message but I have no idea what he is talking about , " One for the inlet manifold which is a genuine part ($185). The other is for the undercooked outlet pipe which is Bosch ($210). " is he talking about the MAP sensor before the throttle body and the o2 sensor before the cat?
