hey guys, I own a 06 turbo bf mk1 sedan, and have recently noticed some strange noises. when the car is warming up, a rattling can be heard and its audible when sitting inside the car, however a tick happens in the engine bay and said noise pretty much disappears. I also discovered now a rattling noise when chucking my transmission into reverse. any suggestions what these could be? cheers

Hi guys, First time poster but have been stalking the forums for a number of months now. Recently sold my Ba falcon and have upgraded to a 2013 manual FG MkII.. I noticed yesterday a new noise in my transmission, it sounds like a very slight grind, almost like something catching. This only happens when and results in: - Car is in gear with the clutch pushed in - Car is moving forward/back. Pushing it causes this intermittent noise to start periodically - Time between noises increases the higher gear it is in. For example twice per foot in 1st, once every 2 feet in 6th - I can feel a very slight vibration with this noise through my shifter if I hold it A guy I trust with mechanical issues has told me that it most likely isn't a pressure plate or driveline issue. Any help/past experience any of you have had with anything similar to this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hi Guys, Quick one had a look through the forum but couldn't drill it down to a particular topic. When in the drivers seat of my FG, there seems to be quite a bit of engine noise coming through the firewall. I'd say from near my feet. Doesn't sound like theres any mechanical issues but can just be a bit annoying when coming on boost. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Grinding / Clunking Sound When Braking & Reverse
ToXic BF Beast posted a topic in Driveline Workshop
Hi guys I have this grinding / clunking sound that happens when I'm coming to a complete stop such as traffic lights / driveways / 3 pt turns.. It ONLY grinds & vibrates right as I'm about to stop,, so the last half a metre or so. (It's even louder in reverse) As soon as I accelerate It goes away & I don't hear it again until I come to another stop. If I brake quite hard or fast, it doesn't make the noise... -no warning lights are displayed - I ran a faults check with TORQUE + OBD2 scanner but only returned a "P1000 powertrain error".... Which apparently is normal for some fords????? My apologies if this has been answered, I'm a newb. I read all similar Q's on this forum but I got 48 diff theories which confused me more than I already am. I will post a link to the vid I just recorded, so u can hear for yourself. Or YouTube 'BF Xr6t grinding noise' Please help falcon dudes!- 6 replies

so I heard this "wuring" sound when the when makes a full revolution at walking pace, thought warranty is almost up best get it looked at. the guys at ford thought it might be a bearing that has collapsed. I get a phone call saying the axel is bent...... I ask how as the heaviest thing ive put in there is my cricket gear. I asked if it would of caused any damage to the diff, and to my delight they have ordered a whole new diff and rear end for my ute. so boys if you hear something strange, get it looked at!!!!!! I have a fg xr6t which has the 4pot brembo brakes in the front. Last week I dropped the car off at ford to get the diff bush replaced, a day later an annoying squeal started when braking. Now it has got worse and louder, when turning left without even touching the brakes the screeching noise still happens. When the steering wheel is straight or turning right, there is no noise. ford said they didnt touch the front end when replacing the rear diff bushes so I can't really blame them, cars also out of warranty. If I had to take a guess, I'd say noise is coming from the front. To test this theory I splashed a bucket of water onto the front wheels then went for a drive, the squealing stopped for a good minute then started again. front pads still have 40% left and rears have 60% left Any ideas?

What could the noise be? I bought the car around 4 weeks ago at Manheim Auctions Moorebank, it's an ex cop car and I noticed the engine noise around 3 weeks ago, it only comes on after driving the car hard and/or the engine is hot. I've been driving the car with the noise for a while now as it's the only transport I have http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TzrPhSkQe84 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9arE8KdsXno

Hello, (long time listening & learning) Looking for some help/advice. Have just had installed PXA-H800 Alpine Sound Processor + RUX-C800 Controller PAD 5000.5 Polk Audio 5 Channel D Class Amp DB 6501 & DB 651 Polk Audio Speakers MM840DVC Polk Audio 8" Sub Stinger 9ft Pro3 2CH RCA TDJ Audio Level Converter Stinger Gold SE 60Amp Fuse & Fuse Holder Using Factory Head Unit The sound quality (ignoring the issues) is a huge improvement over Factory Premium sound My issues are: Constant hiss (Volume does not vary) sounds like the recordings from tape in the quiet periods. (for those who may remember) This is always there sound down to zero included, put it into reverse (No audio) hiss still there. Next is the reverse sensors have been amplified, deafening if volume of stereo is left up. When the phone rings it no longer sounds through the speakers but the number displays on the screen. I have searched through a lot of other posts and found a few similar regarding the hiss, but according to my receipt it has a LLC fitted. Does anyone have any solutions, thoughts or advice to rectify? What may they have done but should or shouldn't have done? Thanks Any help is very much appreciated
