  1. BA Xr6 Turbo, bought 1 month ago, 180,000km, been running great until yesterday. Starts fine and runs normally on light throttle but bogs down when I try to accelerate. Any ideas?
  2. hi to all ,and yes its not a xr6 ute body but only a xt one tonne ute .just building a sleeper so the cops do not hassle me all the time .I bought a wrecked turbo sedan last February and have started to swap parts over .elite have done some mods to it (330 rwkw) I have got the btr rebuild with some au parts but left the stall standard .got the turbo rebuild and a performance wheel fitted as well .so then I got the flapper modified and that's when I hit a big wall .waited 6 weeks for parts ,only got them when I was going to take him to far trade .but now the flapper is leaking (about .5 mm of the wastegate .can not mention name (but he knows who I am )I also have got a turbosmart actuator ,electronic boost controller e street ,tecnico engine mounts ,new radiator ,turbosmart bov 36 mm,earles oil line kit ,hot side pipping to intercooler (I have a nizpro cooler ).I have also got a true track diff with 3.7 dana gears (absolute love the diff )it has a near new paint job ,ute only had 47000 klm on the clock when I bought it two years ago (do not ask but engine transmission and diff were stuffed)bought it of a ford dealer where I life.so what I would like to know is where do you guys get your parts from (just do not want to get shafted again )this ute has cost me a fortune and it still is only a xt ,so just go easy on me please with the pay outs the last photo is the turbo housing the turbo shop send me .this would just have way to much lag if I would have fitted it to my ute
  3. hi ,I bought a 12 psi turbosmart actuator and a turbosmart electronic boost controller (e street only ) so is it possible just to run 6 psi on one of the settings for street use ? can the boost controller do that ? just do not know if that could work . the only reason I ask ,if my misses drives the ute she just would sh*t her pants when boost is that high .my ute has about 330 plus rwkw .thanks for your replies .
  4. Hey guys pretty new on here so any help would be appreciated! ive tried to have a look around but cant seem to find an answer. I purchased a second hand G6et with 40,000ks on it 6 months ago and im starting to mod. I already have a stealth black stage 3 plazmaman cooler and a process west 4" race box (still need to buy the battery relocation and the other cooler pipes) my future plan was to buy: true trac diff oil line filter kit for turbo siemens vdo 80lb injectors 3.5" X force exhaust system with 4" dump was going to get these all fitted by a family friend mechanic then get a tune at Gentech (im in canberra) but the bloke there sayd the FG turbo can only take 320kw max and I could get 300-315 without the exhaust or dump (because they can cause overboost?) so I was thinking do I just save money and do as he says and see how it is then save up and do a second upgrade and tune, OR just do the exhaust and either buy a BA turbo with port and flapper mod, or a gtx3582r from the start with one tune instead of upgrading turbo later? and if both those turbos would be a hassle free direct fit and I wouldnt have to change anything else? any advice on those mods ^ ^ and they way I should go would be appreciated! thanks
  5. I've got some major bugs going on. If anyone has been through similar problems or knows what's wrong let me know. Battery is new also. From a cold start car runs perfect. Gearbox works correctly including sports shift. Now if I drive like my Grandma everything seems ok, but its because the bug isn't activated yet. Its usually 15 minutes later, and after giving it some beans, but not even WOT, it first tell tale sign will be a deep thump into third. Within a few minutes of the thump, It wont change from second to third.. I will then flip back between drive and sports maybe 5-10 times, with a light pedal, it usually goes into third. But this option is short lived and getting third soon disappears. If I get third and leave it in drive it will up/down change between third/forth as normal or downchange to second/first. If in sports it will change up/down between forth and third, or downchange to second or first no problem. But, when slowing down and it down changes back to second, or I choose second through sports or its kicked down to second. I'm back at the bloody start again and it wont go back to third. The only way it ever goes to third is in drive but now it has to rev to around 4900-5200 rpm before it hits third. This is not with WOT or anything, it just gets stuck in second. As it continually gets worse, soon enough no matter how much flipping in and out of sports it completely refuses to go to third at all. I have noticed if I start driving like my grandma again about 10 mins later, I can sometimes get it to go to third flipping back and forth again, but its never a definite. On top of this the motor starts pinging as well. Cold it has no pings, it doesn't happen until the dreaded thump. I have reflashed the tuner with a different tune when hot and it makes no difference to the pinging or third gear working properly. Another problem associated after the thump is it starts to stall when I pull up. The rev's will be like the transmission is not disengaging or its grabbing and sometimes stalls, again I don't have any problems like this until the dreaded thump. Used to have a piggyback, it died. I then had PCM checked, passed, updated and normal tune installed so it would start. Car was then SCT tuned. I get no codes! This box was brought reconditioned and has done it from day one. Have talked to Auto experts, told me its valvebody in transmission because of no codes. History - After I brought the car I drove it back home over two days, distance was one thousand kays. Original box used to kick down dramatically with stuff all throttle, but driving home changed gear normally and in sports. Next day after I got it home, I had no third or forth whatsoever that's why the gearbox was replaced. Never had any pinging issues or stalls with the old box. I always swore new computer cars were sh*t! I miss my Torana! Anyone??
