  1. Hi All, Looking at getting back into the turbo falcon family, and I've seen quite a well priced car. It's got a few mods on it, and has been done by BPT. Now, for a long time they were really hit and miss, and heard a few horror stories, but everywhere I look it seems more and more people are going there. Have they improved? Are they starting to put out some good work? I still can't see myself giving my car to anyone but Rob, but wanted an opinion on what they were like as I've not heard after the past few years, simply seen more people using them. Thanks in advance!

  6. @Certifiedxr6t Hey mate! Cool to see another perthian (that was cringe, I apologise) on the forums! Top places for any barra work in perth is (in no particular order): Monsta Torque, XFT, Dark Horse performance, BPT I deal with Monsta Torque as many do, he is however very busy. Especially at the moment! He has hired a receptionist/front of house kinda thing. He's a very nice kid Anyway, I would recommend them, but if you're looking to get it done quicker I'd actually recommend you go to a place called DIY Garage. There are quite a few mechanics there that have experience with xr6's and they'd be able to help you out
  7. I posted it somewhere but I cbf finding it but the cut job that someone did to my front bumper to accommodate a plaz 1000hp cooler was abit funky. the owner of my car had all the work done by BPT then took it to xft for a retune. Had a picture of it on the BPT dyno with the freshly installed plaz 1000hp. all owners said it hadn't been crashed so I believe it's the cooler they fitted. So I'm not going to say it was definitely BPT who did this to my front bar, but it seems very likely. The only thing I can say for sure is I've heard of many people getting tunes by BPT then they eventually go elsewhere for another tune. I've since straightened up a heap of fins and sprayed the cooler black screw you keith, I just posted as a noob, it's skidxr6t here
  8. Hi PPLs, I'm at that stage where I'd like to do my CAI... was looking for some feedback. I'm a daily reader of this site so assume I've read about all the various options available... from a performance point of view, I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on the following: 1. XR8 Pod with the BPT adapter 2. Geea's 'F**KING CHEAP BUT EFFECTIVE 2nd Intake' 3. Macka's sexy Shaker CAI.... Looking at it objectively and trusting the results people have had with the various options, it looks like Macka's would be the preference for me at this stage (pending costs CMON MAN GIVE IT TO US!!!! ) as: a) looks schmicko :D b) is very effective performance wise (I wreckon ramming all that air into the intake is a good thing) c) looks like it cools the motor significantly in general. I suspect the XR8 Pod / BPT adapter would be the next best performing would I be correct? would it be worth the extra $$$ over GEEA's 2nd CAI? I plan on getting injectors, a chip/edit/whatever in the nearish future also... WHATDAYATHINK!? Cheers, Paul
  9. http://norcom.net.au/~bpt/boss%20edit%20PC...ash%20tuner.htm Good stuff!
  10. all I will say is when I rang the guy who modded my car back in ~2012, he had the work done by BPT and then he promptly took it to XFT not long after. I don't really want to say anything negative other than the fact that he promptly took it to XFT. I also heard something about gearboxes for lunch at BPT?
  11. Hi All, Wondering if anyone can assist with a problem that I have, My original piping began to soften and eventually leak so I decided it was time to upgrade the piping. Sent the Mrs down to BPT Motorsport while I was at work to get a stage 2 kit only to find that it was out of stock, for a little extra money we were offered a stage 3 kit, money is tight at the moment so we inquired if it would fit the standard cooler and were told yes, and that there are reducers included in the kit. Got home and went to fit it all up and it soon became apparent that there were no short pipes to connect the reducers to the rest of the kit. Following day BPT Motorsport said they'd make up the pipes for free (which I am incredibly grateful for) and went to fit it all together, every piece of piping fits in well, only problem now is that the bumper wont fit. Around the foglights its too wide and this is preventing the bar to fit properly, I've tried adjusting all pipes, pushing the alloy piping further into the silicone pieces, even tried cutting down the pipes that BPT made up for me, all to no avail. My question is, does anyone know if the stage 3 piping kit will work with a standard cooler, perhaps I am missing something? Or are there any tips or tricks to get it all to work? Many thanks in advance. Cheers, Marc
  12. There is an experienced tuna on here that has seen at least a few cars previously tuned at BPT, and im sure he would be happy to give you honest neutral feedback on what he has seen. He also really appreciates a box of beer from time to time for such great info  I would ask him for that type of info My car lasted just fine with a BPT tuned for 5 years/70,000kms. But I dont drive like Steve either
  13. Sounds good cheers guys. Im in perth found a place yesterday..bpt motorsport an by the looks of there work shop an all the sick fords everywhere!! I think this is the place to go in perth. So yeah will book the car in an get some work done?. Has anyone had much too do with bpt in perth??
  14. No, it's not a typo, they are 355mm T3 front rotors with PBR 'C6' calipers. Race Brakes Sydney sell the kit. BPT Motorsport tuned it with Sniper, I've continued on from there with my own software. BPT Motorsport fitted the GTX3582R and diff hat. Diff hat fitment and Truetrac install was around $1400 plus parts (diff hat and truetrac). There is more noise noticeable with the diff hat, but I believe that it caused by the noise of the truetrac. To be honest, I can't hear it anymore, I'm used to it.
  15. Wow this Racewars crash is getting interesting. Apparently BPT just finished doing some work on the car https://www.facebook.com/pg/bptmotorsport.com.au/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2527770527295178&__xts__[0]=68.ARDG6b66oLtVBMcO2il1H1MMpXvSLcqyYnWu_n0Shby-Uo0Gyc_dci2-mk7SDDhXuQ1zXBWTitqKG9dO81nfOpOY-fO2uMflQFJhhEpAVoiAl5UNJFkYjA-Vc8dUPZDBPZ91_9WaxdX7odjzPi5f9nBRl26DhnuwzNQihagwWUSNZrX4HyXFSpfBJx1SC3KjCANZVKzJZDxpXi1-ILR5_G3Wu5cPgTxxHHpdK4XXJ5CRJEyoXNoqWsNRnnIwQvvRt8mwsaYY3nhhVvEY3NemGQkTr_Nud0VxyrXB0S3o_mvksqdpscu3uv3_GzA5h7Ur765x7FKfNgkTBm2Mk5pv40GK-rmagaqPjK2P5HOiva8hIhX0KFnYLrja7rG0MF0zZo6N2hXaTahau6R2EnqE5KhmtuBb2k-oXqcooIzDdMDikpIhDvGR9aXkKzvKoVtvappECxF29PHB9wI&__tn__=-UC-R Plus it appears the dad was supposed to race and swapped his band with his son, I only just found this out as one of the ladies here went down with her husband who knows one of the organisers.
  16. Yeh mate, bpt are still doing the tune. I asked simon at xft for a price, but it was too steep as mine has a sniper tune and he uses xcal. So it means re-flashing which is basically paying for your first tune and setup all over again, where as im already with bpt so its only gonna cost the hourly rate for a re-tune. Ill see how it goes, the guys at bpt are good guys, ill see what they can get out of it

    g6e turbo tuned

thanks. I just can't believe that no one mentioned that BPT would be the issue at the time. Why not go to a reputable tuner to fix.

    g6e turbo tuned

I am sorry, but I am going to have to mine this thread. Dammit, how did I not see this thread any sooner. no wonder this guy has issues with his car. BPT tuning. ffs when are they gonna stop trying to tune fords. Go to a different tuner, assuming the OP still looks at the forum.

  20. Hey guys, just looking for a bit of advice. At the moment I've got a standard unmodified BF F6 Typhoon. It's got 140000 on the clock. I'm looking to start doing some mods to it. I'm not really into burnouts so want the power to be useable and not dry the rear tyres. Love that pushed back in the seat feeling. I'm just looking to see what direction to go in as I've been told that once the car's putting out 270rwkw if I was to put much more into it it wouldn't really be noticeable, is that the case ? Also looking for advice if the best places to take it to in WA. I was thinking either West Racing or BPT Motorsport. Has anybody used any of these places and what did you reckon of them ? Also any advice on what mods to get done would be awesome ?? Cheers guys
  21. Im gunna do mazda BPT 4cyl dohc turbo motor from a mx5/miata. Its been done a couple times. And ive built a BPT before so I have the knowledge already.
  22. I'd recommed XFT over BPT for a tune based on what I've read here and talked about in person over the years. BPT are better at V8's than turbo 6's I think.
  23. Well, after 5 and a half years, ive made the 300 club and have decided to put together a bit of a build thread. Some time in October 2010 I bought a FG F6 ute, something I had wanted since the BA's came out. always loved utes and turbos even more. Build #15 This was the day I picked it up. It stayed much like this for some time, couldnt afford to do mods after buying the F6. Was fully optioned though, which was a plus. 6 pot Brembos, sat nav ($6k option, and painful to use, no idea why the original owner got it, but at least came with the premium screen), hard tonneau cover, Tein struts (lowered, and I think the rear springs were reset, dont look like after market ones and its not on blocks), 20" rims..... It came with a Sniper tune module, so guessing the original owner had it tuned at BPT. So, I went there, had it serviced and put on the dyno. came up with this... wasnt too happy with the curve, but came out around the 280rwkw. Was ok for a daily for now. Was some time befor I did any mods directly affecting the KW factor, but I did get some other work done... all needed, but all taking money from the mod funds. Due to some kerb rash, I ended up getting the rims cleaned up, as well as breaking up the all black look. Firstly was just the silver lip, this photo taken the day after I crossed the Nullabor. Rained for half the trip The day I had the wheels installed we had a cruise with the Western oz bunch, and some may remember this happening... hit a kerb and went into a small empty garden bed in one of the meet points.... lolz were had Then u tried a bright red..... I used a cheap paint straight onto the rim. it chipped off easily, as well as flaked off when I was cleaning with the pressure washer. so I then went a candy apple red... I really like this one, but again, home job and it looks a little dull now, so working on upgrading to some 19" rims, rather than the 20's. More sidewall on the tyres, less road noise, better ride etc. I also upgraded the stereo. Put in some Focal splits, as well as some Dynamat to help reduce some road noise and give a better sound. Also put in some Pioneer 6x9's in the rears (photos to come, as well as more on the sound deadning) All has been installed to keep the stock look. can just see the Pioneer amp below the passenger seat. I then replaced the genuine Brembo rotors, as there were squealing and causing a bit of a shudder. Both with RDA grooved and dimpled. Fronts now have Project Mu pads, rears EBC reds. In the picture below, you can also see the camber adjustment kit I had installed to stop the inside of my fronts from scrubbing. has been spot on since its been set up. reduced the camber to 0.8 degrees. Steering is a little heavier then it was (around the 1.7 degree mark), but havent scrubbed any tyres since. Fronts Rears Old New And then came time for some actual performance mods. FordXR6Turbo sticker. made me 10kw right there... But really, I did do some mods. New intercoler and Venom cat (no pics of cat, will when up on hoist next). Went the Plasmaman stage 2 (800hp one I think). I wanted the tube and fin and there was one cheap on the forum classifieds. Had my trusty supervisor checking out the job. Took it to the tuner and got this bit of paper back... Was pretty happy with that. and that is the story so far. This how the engine bay looks. Hoping to keep it looking as stock as possible.
  24. BPT Motorsport also make an intercooler kit for the Miami. http://www.bptmotorsport.com.au/product/airaid-synthaflow-mxp-series-cold-air-intake-system/
