  1. Happy Birthday Gonadman2!

  2. Those pillars are about ~$64pr from memory. If you're worried about drilling holes, just go get some new ones to replace them when you're done with your boost gauge.
  3. I used that leaky pipe stuff from bunnings to do my lawn. Ran it back and forth about 30 cm apart. My lawn is the greenest in the street and you don't have to worry about 'tards dobbing you in during water restrictions. Also helps keeps the weed level down.
  4. I kinda like the Ranger too. Bummer about the whole deal though...
  5. I found the available grip to be amazing. I was bogging down in 1st with nearly 4000rpm on the dial... And I was running street tyres.
  6. I got my tyres from Ozzy Tyres, it was a pretty painless process. I paid online, and they turned up a week later.
  7. Ah, I knew there was a Rob in there somewhere... Luke came up to me at the end of the night and introduced himself, a very nice guy. I'll definitely be investigating their services if/when I get work done in the future. There was so many Holdens, I can't specifically remember your's unfortunately. It was an awesome night thought, dragstrips have phenomenal grip, I couldn't believe I bogged down on every run. I had my GoPro in the car with me, so I'll try and throw some video up of my runs.
  8. Hey Slash, what car were you running? It wasn't that crazy Silver Tornado ute? I spoke with that guy (Rob?) at the end of the evening. That car was very fast. For my first night I managed a 13.543 on my last run, but I kept bogging down. The last run I launched at about 3900rpm...
  9. I'll let you know how I go tomorrow... In the 2 years I've had it, its done everything I could possibly ask of it. Its the best car I've owned (and I've had a few). I don't consider it a loss...
  10. I'll keep a lookout, I have a Green/Blue/Purple FG F6 ute with a hard cover. Stock F6 rims. Please don't be afraid to come up and say gday. I'll be wandering around looking sheepish (and not knowing exactly what to do!)...
  11. Its a manual, but thanks for the tips! I'm actually a little apprehensive as its been a very long time (10 years) since I did a proper burnout in a manual...
  12. Are you saying that there is less grip than on the road?
  13. Oh my car is almost stock bar rebound springs and Nitto NT-05's. I will be happy with a mid to low 13. I have never been to the drags but want to get a baseline before I modify the sh*t out of it once the warranty is done. My brother and mate have a VE Bogan special and VY SS (all utes) so it will be interesting to see how the F6 stacks up. They both have a reasonable level of mods, OTRCAI/Full Exhaust/Tune with the VY having a cam as well. They both eat me for grip when playing on the road as well.
  14. Are you going tonight Ciaran?
  15. Hey guys, a couple of friends and I are going down to Whoop Ass Wednesday at Kwinana tonight and had a couple of quick questions for someone that might have been before: How do I pay for tickets beforehand? The website has general admission, but nothing for people that are actually racing... Is it really necessary to perform a burnout before hand? I run street tyres and a hottish evening is forecast, I really don't see how this can be beneficial. Are drag strips more sticky or less sticky than a decent bit of road? How much difference does this make to launch RPM? Is there an opportunity to genuinely line up with my mates? Is that how this works, or is it a random thing and a timeslip comparison at the end of the night? It opens at 5pm, is it good to get in early? What are the crowds like for people that are racing? Cheer's for any tips and advice!
  16. My current tank is at 18.4L/100km about 1/3rd the way through it. 0 freeway or highway driving, just local city roads (traffic lights every 200m etc). If I can get some freeway driving in, I'll get it down to 12-13L/100km. I just don't worry about the fuel consumption anymore, I just drive it and enjoy it. If you were worried about fuel consumption you could get an i30, but you would get over the amazing fuel use and instead lament the fact that you have an econobox.
  17. Darwinism at its best. That road is arrow straight behind them, with multiple sets of traffic light intersections. If they were driving that fast and failed to negotiate the bend then they obviously lacked the intelligence to drive the car in the first place. I have no pity for these fools and if anyone thinks that the passenger couldn't have done anything, they're wrong. If it was his best mate then all he should have to say is "hey slow down mate" but if it comes down to it he can knock it out of gear or pull a handbrake. I've done it before.
  18. Its something I've read in other peoples journals, and generally at the level that most people train at, 3 quality meals that cover your diet requirements for the day is better than 6-7 'small' meals that may not match the same nutritional value. I used to try and eat the 6-7 meals per day, but have moved away from it as I felt I gained nothing, and it was a little inconvenient. I probably came across a little heavy in saying its a myth, but it is a common thing to hear people say that eating less more often is the key to losing weight. Think about it like this. If you eat/drink badly for a week, and then have one day where you eat well, is that going to improve your ability to workout? I would think not, and it works the other way around, if you eat well for a week and have one bad day it feels the same. I'm only going on my personal experience and the experience of others that are exceptional bodybuilders, but if someone has some science to back up the claim I'd be glad to hear it.
  19. This is a myth - metabolism has a lot more components than just your eating times and volume. You're better off thinking about a whole day approach. Generally 3 bigger meals will keep you feeling fuller longer than 6 small ones, and its easier to get your required intakes in those 3 large meals. Check out some of the stuff guys are doing in their journals on OCAU or BB.com if you want to research it further. Obviously everyone is different though and that approach might work for you. Don't just think its because its 6 smaller meals doing it for you.
  20. Yea that's it, twin scroll means that an 8 or 9 sec car makes ~15psi at 2000rpm, rather than 0 psi. Have a look at the dyno graph from a stock Evo X. Amazing performance from such a small turbo/motor.
  21. I think it would be more interesting trying to develop a twin scroll setup for these. Tuned length exhaust manifold + twin scroll turbo should offer amazing performance with an inline 6. You could afford to go with a much larger turbo - more grunt up top, without losing out in the bottom end.
  22. I had a few WRX's up there (in Port Hedland) and the stock ones would feel sluggish on hot days. The biggest thing about getting a tune, was the fact that they really didn't 'feel' laggy on hot days. I would expect a tuned car to never feel laggy unless it was deliberately tuned that way, regardless of the fuel. Should have bought a V8 like everyone else up there! My bro's VE SS-V ute was one of the highest performing cars to come out of APC with the mods it had at the time (OTR, Full exhaust, tune), and he had it tuned on 95. From my limited experience 95 isn't as bad as everyone makes out. Took the words right out of my mouth!
  23. Generally "reducing the ride height" and "improving cornering" do not go hand in hand when only installing coilovers. I talked about it more in a previous post, but generally handling has a lot more to do with keeping your tyres square and level with the ground, than reducing the centre of gravity. It would be a good idea to do some research beforehand if you're planning to track your car.
  24. My mrs is learning to drive (a manual) and manages to get my F6 to throw this fault. Something to do with stalling, but its happened 3 times now.

    Good Pads

I will never use EBC pads again. These were off my old WRX after a track day. They were nearly brand new at the time. I was pretty disappointed with their overall performance.
