  1. Excellent post Mick, people in this thread need to understand that Herrod aren't the bad guys. Actually, there is one bad egg out there who was up until recently re flashing XCAL1's, he is not a forum sponsor on here, if anyone wants to point the finger, he is the guy ultimately responsible in my opinion. Without Rob Herrod, the XCAL1's would be turned off, and there would be no rebate. The guy fights for us, about time we realised this and appreciated it. Chris
  2. I think this is great news - imagine being able to upgrade an item that is already out of warranty!! Kudos to Herrod Motorsport for getting the rebate happening, without them the rebate wouldn't be happening, and now as a result the 6 speed software will be sped up some. XCAL1's started to become unreliable up to 3 years ago, so the writing has been on the wall for some time. Bandriver, the SCT software is the safest on the market, if you want to risk your $8000 engine for the sake of saving a few pennies, then go for your life. Open closed loop fuel blending aint hp's strong suit............trust me, I have both.
  3. Danny, many people modify their base spark or borderline knock table to see the given spark that a car in a particular circumstance will "like". I am a fan of reducing this table, and using MBT as an "upper limit" depending on how inconsistent the air cooling system is. Further to this - your spark retard for ACT - have you considered raising the lower levels as a spark adder for premium conditions (cooler) with mods to the mult table itself THEN going into the usual retards as temps rise? this can greatly reduce knock "learn" and is a technique I picked up tuning our NON intercooled Boss systems, and I have since applied it to the turbo's we tune, esp in the slow correction value. Its helped me in this situation, may be helpful or not for you. Regards Chris Bluepower Racing Developments.
  4. congratulations people - midnight finishes, I know the feeling. Good to see some passionate people out there, a happy client is a good client...
  5. Hey man, thanks for the nice comments and awesome avatar!! Ive developed my own kit, it uses a Kenne Bell 2.6 twin scew. It will go from 6lbs to 26lbs. Guys are running 6's with them in the US. Not cheap, but effective. Hi mate, its a street car, street registered, I use it at least once or twice a week, its no daily driver, 350rwkw onconverter lockup is a problem. I take exhaust off, add lightweights and remove seat and tailgate to run times though. I also run a 50hp wet shot through the blower. Chris
  6. Can I please add my updated time? 10.19 @ 135.99mph Boss V8 Geea, I dont know how to post a timeslip, can I take a pic and email it to you?
  7. Can I put my name down for the track day? Got 2 cars to race. Pls let me know where to send the money. Thanks in advance Chris
  8. can I please add in the Victoria section my NOS XR8 ute 10.70 @ 127 mph 1.52 60ft. Thanks Chris
  9. oh, and im not going for, nor was I aware of a 4spd auto record.
  10. I do have a couple of slips, but I dont know how to post them up - anyone in the campbellfield area in vic could possibly drop in and give me a hand, would be great. Im not sure if I have any enemy's on here or not, as I haven't seen the comments posted that were cleaned up. All I am going to say is that as soon as you run a drag radial, as far as Vic Roads are concerned the car is illegal. Also, aftermarket race fuels including C16 are also illegal. I run pump 98 without additive, as that is what my clients use on the street. So race what you have, but people making big claims about what is legal or not should check facts with local DMV. I just race my own car to improve my tuning and to help move the BOSS forward. This fact will stay here and I wont discuss it further out of respect to the forum sponsors who support you guys on here. We have had plenty of success and fun doing it, and racing should be all about the fun side. Im the sort of person who will respond well to friendly chat regarding racing, if anyone's going to have a dig, id much rather it in person. Having said that, I have met Geea,Goldie, MS700, Simon from Xtreme, Danno and I also previously knew Jeff (DBOSS) from many phonecalls, and I have been shown great kindness from them all. For the kind words guys, thankyou very much.
