  1. yeah sweet thanks so much for the help, ill be updating on my progress
  2. Yeah okay so assuming I use the turbo pcm and just splice the boost control into the BF loom Ill just have an extra plug on the loom for the extra knock sensor which wont need plugging in? and as for the intercooler and turbo lines I obviously have the full stock intercooler system on the rusty BA but I also have an FPV intercooler which is slightly different size which may mount up nicer so I'm not sure yet And for the turbo lines Ive heard about the clogging oil feed line so ill just buy a kit of braided lines is what I've heard I should do. I plan on using as much of the stock system as possible
  3. If I splice it will I still need to add another knock sensor to the back to suit the rest of the BA loom? and just to get it straight I'm only gonna have to put in the motor, splice or change the harness and then change the ecu before using the forscan tool to link the ecu to the car and that's it? there's no further tuning or modifications need doing? I'm aware of a few small things like the horn needs to be moved and one of the power steering cooler hoses is in the way but other than that is there anything else I'm missing?
  4. yeah okay if its something I can do down the line and won't cost me an engine then I might go that way. And for the tuning course would they take people who aren't 18 yet? I don't really care if I had to wait but that sounds like something id be interested in. And just back to the question about the engine harness if you were in my shoes would you bother trying to fit the BA harness to the BF or just splice the boost control in?
  5. I Just had a read and cant say id be fully confident trying to figure that out myself even with that forum considering I really don't have much if any experience with anything tuning or anything like this . What exactly will it affect if I do or don't do it? Is it only changing the turbo to spool how later model BF and FGs do and if so why is that necessary?
  6. ah okay perfect. could you also explain a bit further what you mean when you say ill need independent cam strategy and that the BA ecu doesn't have it?
  7. Yeah okay Ill pull the blown NA motor out and see if its something I think I'm capable of doing. I've also heard from a friend who vaguely said that id need to switch the key reader, immobiliser and possibly a module near the key reader. is this all correct?
  8. Both the BA and BF have the 4spd so I don't think ill run into issues there (correct me if I'm wrong). And as for the 3 plug harness, how big/straighforward of a job would it be to switch. I'm trying to find out as much as I can before asking but haven't read or seen anything specifically about that either
  9. yeah sorry if im being unclear basically my question is when I put the turbo motor on the car Im assuming the Turbo ecu needs to go with it because the NA ECU doesn't have the plug that goes to the electronic boost control, so my question is will all the Plugs from the BATurbo ECU connect to the BF?
  10. But will the BA ecu plug into the loom on the BF?
  11. so your telling me its doable without completely changing the looms?
  12. hey just wandering if anyone could give insight how id need to go about putting the turbo motor from a 04 BA into a 07 BF body. will the looms need to be switched etc
