  2. update: I see that yellow connector and rod is for the vent select, so wheres the the one for hot/cold, or is it internal?? I running out of ideas.....
  3. I've joined this club too, no heater. I can turn the knob and hear the little motor turn but no heat. I've half pulled stuff apart today hoping it would be the rod/arm but no luck (see the picces), everything looks in tact. The fact the I can hear the motor turn (sounds like its in the white unit in piccy 1) as I move the dial, does this suggest that white unit is faulty (whats that called by the way, is it the VIM?). Any help much appreciated.
  4. agreed, Xr6t for sure. When I went to purchase, I took a standard T for a drive, which was sooooo fast compared to the current car, a el farimont ghia with zorst. I then took an 11sec XR6T for spin and shazam, bought it. If you are planning on a couple little mids, similar to that of your commo, you get ALOT of bang for your buck.
  5. Darndest thing, it was working Friday, then didnt work this morning. I read elsewhere on here about heater cores, fuses, arms........ But how can one know what is causing it? I don't mind pulling a dash out, aint done it before but figured I will get the workshop manual which should have most the info. Any help much appreciated.

  7. I was keen on some altezza's, but the silver nor the black suit the blueprint colour, I've seen the silver ones on a blueprint T and it looks like those hotwheels plastic mags. I then wanted to get a black set, put it apart and paint em (the black area, colour match the car colour) but seems they are a sealed unit.
  8. Hey mate, I did the same BOV mod last week without any dramas. Just recheck your work that you haven't got any vaccuum leaks/check all hoses in the area you were workn. I've seen a few people on here have had similar issues. See how ya go, if not I'm sure some others will post soon.
  9. yup miss ally's did, that's what prompted me to ask bout this issue. Previous owner got the whole intake chromed, I guess this would alleviate this issue?
  10. Hey guys n girls, I'm reading that we are starting to see alot of turbo damage done from flakes off the inside of the intake. Just windering what exactly is degrading, is it the pipe work between the air intake and throttle body? If so, are there aftermarket ones available or is it more of a custom jobby to run the pipe work. Cheers Josh
  11. thanks man. Update : I have now been advised that they have inspected the cat closer and it, and the other one is fine. The rattle was confirmed where I thought it was, the rear muffler, which they said they could easily repair and refit, all under warranty. Just saved me $300 odd bux plus labour, hooray.

  14. I love reading these sorts of threads. Mine runs 320rw which beats everything (bar a bloody ninja bike) that I've come up against. I have the usual wad of wrx/skyline/tt soarer boys at work who think mines the ducks guts. But when I tell them oh no, I'm only small fry, I know of 400rwkw+ boys, they're gob smacked with a common reply of "but its a taxi.....". Keep em coming. I try to convince my fiance that 320 isnt enough and whats an extra 4 or 5k for bottom end/misc work to get me to the magic 400 but she thinks our wedding in 11 months and putting a house on our block is more important. I know she's right, well, most of me.........although...

  16. Hey guys n girls, Booked the T in to get the exhaust rattle checked out (wasn't rubbing against the car, was "inside" something). I'm told that one of the cat's has collapsed for sure (they are checking out the other one and the rear muffler). Now the cat I am told is a ceramic one, and I'm told that a metal one should last longer (320rwkw). Whats the difference? If the second one is ok, is there any point replacing it? I havn't had any noticable power drops as read in other posts. I was quoted $300 for a metal cat, sound about right? Car is at a repuatble repairer, not a dodgey joes. Other little question is about warranty. The exhaust is 2 years old on the 20th may. Complete system was done by them from what I know (previous owner had done). They are kinding pushing back saying that a car of that power, warranty is a bit of a greay area. Invoice doesn't say warranty period anywhere but they have confirmed verbally 2 years. Your thoughts on both topics?
  17. alirghty, finally putting tyres on tomorrow, going to give the hankook tyres a go but got quoted on two different models. For the K107's above, I got quoted $415 (as opposed to $340, where was that from?) and the K104's for $350. Just seeinf if the extra $150 for two tyres is worth the extra???

    Very interesting, I wonderred what would happen when dicky wanted to start stepping back, guess this is a next step, even if it weren't for a few years. That plus the fact ford is scaling back its motorsport $$$, something had to happen. On the flip, its great to have another professional racing time to join in the fun to try n stop the 4 car VE team, you know who I'm talking about.

  20. blue (bionic?) GTP, black stripes with shaker on the bonet, greenbank area. Stopped and had a chat to the bloke, nice fella, said it was supercharged with 420rwhp. I was in me fiesta so didnt wanna be that guy "oh my ottttther car is 11 sec xr6t".

  23. Hey mate, The other boys should be able to help you out with the paint colour but wholes wise, people just use fibreglass. Search the audio forums for the colour code, fella used fibreglass to cover inbetween the tissue box and gear selector for the second head deck.
  24. I with those guys, the protectors are $30 from ebay for the genuine ford part, work a treat. I got my rhs one smashed on the way home from picking the car up for the first time. Bought the light ($160-$180 from ford....ouch!), installed the protector never a drama again. If I run my hand across the protectors I feel all the potential $180 chips, best $30 ever.
