Had a very interesting interview with Lewis's dad. He said Fernando's dad will not shake his hand ever and when asked if they do dinner together, he said he wishes it could be that way but he is constantly rejected. Troubles a brewing. Interview with Lewis, asked if he expects issues in turn1, he replied "you best ask alonso" P.S. Its a wet race, always spices it up.

Hey Grommz, Welcome to the light side (or is it dark to you...?). With that sort of money, you will have a couple of options. Either an ealier model BA Series I/II that has had work done to it, but will have a few k's on it, or a newer model with lower k's but standard. Personally I spent 30k on a series I BA about 12 months ago with 320+ rwkw that ran in the 11's and couldnt be hapier. Mods wise the rest of the boys will be able to help you out but with exhaust+edit, you should be able to hit that pretty easily. Enjoy!

for you fellas with the low excess, I assume this is because your car is standard? I tried the normal AAMI's and NRMA's, but due to extent of modifications, they wont touch it.

yeah wouldn't be surprised mate. I got a quote of $300 to fix a small'ish dent in the boot and a 60cm scratch (bastards car key) on the front quater panel. So for you + parts, sounds pretty right. Paints a funny thing, its so easy to get it wrong, so people charge to do it properly. On the excess front I can't help you. I'm 26, perfect record (for the period that counts anyway), but as car is modified (320+ rwkw), its a just cars jobby. My excess is 2.5k. Cop that!

All I can say is from experience (Ea anniversary model) with the 4.0l singlie point injection, did a 200kmh+ run when I was young and dumb (the gearing was just wayyy to low on the first of the 4 speed autos). When I pulled up I had weird noises, turned out I snapped half of the head bolts. More power in it? maybe, you never know.

Is it really just a drop in? What about all the electrics /sensors/ airbags?

Hey Falcman, Welcome to the forums. Mate the reason the fellas above are saying forgot about it is the sheer cost and time required to develop something like that. All of the water pockets, gaskets, timing gears, intakes..... all will not line up. In short you would have to re-engineer the head or the block. The recommendation of throwing even a standard barra engine is not a bad idea. Cheap for one, but power wise 180kw vs 120ish for an eb-ed 4.0l, would be good fun and lets be real, theres not a lot of eb-ed's headn around with decent power / falcon engines. Good luck none the less and yes, it is good to have something a little different.

600kmh to the tank is highway driving would be 90% highway driving. I do mostly city driving and get a bit 500km so either way they are a great little car. If only it had a 6th gear for those 110-120kmh speed zones. With the whole 3dr v 5dr, consdering its free, just remember that this is just a drive around car that you will probably trade in in 3 years or so and should get a bit more for 5dr. But either way, guy at work has the 3dr zetec and the boss has one too (only person I know who's on 120k+ and drivins a <20k car).
