  1. schweet, keep the pics coming.
  2. yup, and a series 1 BA at that. It does have 4" dump to 3 inch (or was it 3.5) on the exhaust front and the dual intake with a PWR cooler, but the cross over is original.
  3. cheers etm. Yup already pencilled in for that Adam. 105,000km service, gearbox flush, diff fluid change and general check over. On a side note, I've gone the boost gauge and oil pressure gauge. When I install the t-piece for the oil sender unit, is it going to piss out oil or is it above the oil line in the engine?
  4. cheers for the replies fellas. I do hear a bit of "winding down" noise when you turn the car off which could suggest some bearings may be getting old? Cars heading into Elite for a service in a week and half so ill get them to check it out properly. This car would have seem some punishment over the years so if a turbo rebuild is on the cards so be it. As said by a smart man (who was it anyways???), You play, you pay. BFHOON: In the Sierra (factory turbo was a Garrett T03), the C-clip broke off the arm where it connected to the wastegate and allowed full boost (35 pound plus) and kaboooom. Holes in 2 pistons, 5 snapped head bolts, head lifted off and shot flames out the side of the block. Wow, a costly mess.
  5. Pulled the intake off today whilst fitting gauge senders and found a bit of oil in the intake. I'm not talking alot, but enough to collect at little at the bottom of the pipes. I'd assume this isn't normal, as it happened in old Ford Sierra XR4Ti. (turned out to be rear turbo seal). Will it be the same issue?? Any symptoms to check / lookout for? Assuming it is the turbo, am I better off getting a rebuild (cars done 106,000 km, running 330ish rwkw) or looking to purchase new? I seem them around new for $1200-$1500 ish so a rebuild I'd assume to be about half? Cheers Josh
  6. Hey mate, you've got a few options, but checkout http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41967 , it shows you what happens if you leave it. Mal Wood does a kit to fix it, or so I read. See http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40101
  7. hey mrdamo, where did you get em from?
  8. glad to help mate. lucky you dont have to replace the gear surround like I did, its a pain in the ass job, and of course I did it the morning of me driving in a wedding.
  9. Hey mate, For a dual voice coil 4ohm sub you can either wire it for 2ohm or 8ohm (can't be done as four). I made the mistake of buying a 4 ohm amp which kept cutting out (obviously) when the sub was wired as 2ohm. To run a sub like that your best bet is to get a monoblock (sub only amplifier) which will do 600w rms @ 2ohm. See here for wiring diagram on how to do 2 or 8ohm. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161 Buy you should find on the Rockford website similar info. Hope I could help.
  10. Just do it as is, it will just slide off.
  11. Hey mate, Yup you're on crack, there is a screw at the base off the selector on front (see piccy). She slides off, slide new one on, screw in, and you're done.
  12. I agree with adam, Geoff was one of the best things for Ford Australia in a long time, and that Tom didnt do very much at all, in the public eye anyways. Change is as good as a holiday.
  13. I hear ya superdan. Pulled me finger and ripped the sub out tihs arvo, oh yeh its shagged. The glue that holds the sub speaker to the steel surrounds has completely come off. Hence the buzz is the cone being able go alllll the way out then slap back into the steel surrounds. New sub for me.
  14. what sorta $$ was it to get the bulge onto the original?
  15. cheers gene, found them yesterday and orderred. For their price and look, you cant beat them. Thanks again.
  16. Nobody? surely not!
  17. About 12 months ago I got an Alpine V12 MRV-345 Amplifier, Alpine splits and a JL 12" W3 Dual Coil Sub installed in the 03 T (preium sound) by a reputable installer. On the way home the Amp was cutting out, installer said oh,you need a cap, its drawing too much. Another $200, another 2 kms down the road, cuts out. Long story of back and forth's, might be this, might be that, I ended up chatting to the boys over at mobileelectronics, it was found that the 4 ohm sub, was wired in 2ohm configuration which the amp they sold me doesn't support. Wired to 8 ohm, problem solved, no more drop outs. Now the sub never sounded good, on fast beat songs, it would buzz. Buzz like it had a hole in it. Slow short bursts sounded ok. I wasn't going back to the installer after 1.5 months of them trying to get a simple install right I just put up with it. Finally got around to looking at it now and the first issue became obvious. Giant box for 2 subs, but with only 1 sub, removedsub, found no separator. Sub needs 35 litres (from the book), but had 63 litres. I added an interior wall to make the volume correct, put it all back together but still buzzzzzes. I can only assume the wrong size box for so long has damaged the Sub. The amp runs the front splits which work great so I assume it's fine. Long story (sorry) short, where's a decent place I can take it to that someone can tell me straight up whats the issue and go from there? I'm located around browns plains on the south side. Thanks for reading my ramblings. Josh
  18. V6 Twin Turbo has been confirmed Orion series 2. By the way, anyone know what the orion model number is called ? I.e. the barra was the ba/bf, surely the orion is not "or"
  19. thanks for that gene. Just wondering the model number of the gauges you used for the oil pressure? looks good.
  20. Finalllly getting around to doing my gauges (purchasing), just wondering on the oil pressure one, if I buy the mechanical model, will I require the following sender : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GAUGE-ADAPTOR-BA-BF...1QQcmdZViewItem Or if I go the electrical one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUTOMETER-C...bayphotohosting What else is required? Thanks Josh
  21. funny........until the next time he does it, looses control and the bike hits a little kid who runs out to see what the noise is about.
